’97 ryan durr is the principal at New
Tech, East Tech. He was presented with an
Administrator Award from Alabama State
University, Cleveland Alumni Chapter at their
50th Anniversary Celebration. Ryan is the
youngest African American principal in the
state of Ohio. Congratulations Ryan!!
’01 rachel Moore graduated from Case
Western Reserve University in 2005 with honors
in Psychology and a minor in Nutrition. In 2008,
she received her M.S. in Clinical Psychology
from Virginia Tech. In 2011, after completing
a pre-doctoral internship at Children’s Mercy
Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City, Missouri,
Rachel received her Ph.D. in Clinical Child
Psychology from Virginia Tech. Her research
and clinical interests focus on coping skills
and pain management using family-based
cognitive-behavioral interventions for pediatric
patients with chronic illness. Rachel will
complete a post doctoral fellowship in Pediatric
Psychology at Children’s Mercy Hospitals and
Clinics, specializing in the assessment and
treatment of children within the departments
of Hematology/Oncology and Burns.

’04 tom Canitia was sworn into the
South Euclid Fire Department on September 12,
2011. Tom is a graduate of Hiram College and
received his firefighting and medical training at
Cuyahoga Community College.
stacey Batcha Carman graduated from
Baldwin-Wallace in 2009 with a Masters of
Business Administration in Accounting. After
gaining experience at Ernst & Young LLP in
Cleveland, she took a position in a rotational
corporate finance role at PolyOne Corporation
in Avon Lake. She is currently in a seven month
international assignment in Europe as an
International Finance Analyst. She was married
in 2009 to Devin Carman.

She accepted a position with Hyland Software
in Westlake, as a Systems Engineer. She will
be working in the Healthcare division of the
software company. She is happy to be back in
Cleveland, starting this new chapter in her life.
kevin friedman graduated from the College of
Wooster with a degree in Business Economics.
He was an account executive with the
Cleveland Browns, but recently accepted a job
with the San Francisco 49ers selling stadium
builders license for their new Santa Clara
Stadium. Kevin also played semi pro football for
the Cleveland Cobras as the kicker and punter.
He may continue to play semi pro in San Francisco
if he has time.
’06 Megan haldi graduated in August
from Bowling Green State University with
her Masters in Accounting. She resides in
Columbus, Ohio and is a Staff Accountant for
Glimcher Realty Trust.
’07 kenny friedman graduated in May,
2011 from Curry College in Boston, MA, with a
degree in Business/Communications. He played
baseball for three years as a catcher. He also
interned with a Fortune 500 Adecco Co. Kenny
is presently interviewing in the Boston area.
