Message from the<br />

Love Thy Neighbour ( LTN ) established in 1995 to aware the deprived, neglected and<br />

unaware people especially destitute women. The main target of LTN to make<br />

disadvantaged people and women self reliant and active through self-awareness. To<br />

accomplish this great purpose, LTN has been participating actively in various<br />

development programs in different target area for a long time.<br />

LTN express sincere gratitude to whom who have extended their cooperation and<br />

empathy to accomplish all project activities. We express gratitude to general and<br />

executive members of LTN. Their enthusiasm and gallantness inspired us in every<br />

activities. We are grateful that they have taken important decisions and provided us<br />

inspirations and directions for smooth operation of the organization by attending<br />

executive committee meetings regularly . We are grateful to all the donors of LTN<br />

without whose financial support none of our work could be accomplished properly. For<br />

this reason we extend our thanks and gratefulness to PRIP Trust, Netherlands Embassy,<br />

Mission Statement:<br />

To help establishing human dignity of the poor and marginal people through<br />

institution building and women empowerment process. LTN measures its<br />

success with positive changes in the people’s lives in terms of quality and<br />

quantity. LTN is commitment bound to reach at its own vision by involving<br />

highly qualified, skilled, experienced and dedicated staff members and<br />

volunteers.<br />

Brief Objectives of the<br />

Legal Status of the Organization<br />

LTN development activities started on 1 st June, 1995.<br />

LTN has been registered under the 1961 Ordinance by Bangladesh<br />

Government Social Department with Regd. No. BORI – 504/98<br />

dated 10/02/1998.<br />

LTN is registered with Bangladesh Govt. NGO Affairs Bureau,<br />

Regd. No.1627, dated 04/04/ 2001. Extt : 19 June, 2008.<br />

■ Group Formation :<br />

LTN started to organize groups in the target areas for income generation program<br />

each group consists of 15 to 25 group women at grassroots level . Each group<br />

performs self employment through weekly savings and training.<br />

♥ HYSAWA Project :<br />

CDF Meeting<br />

LTN Started HYSAWA Project with the support of Denmark Government through<br />

Local Government in the year 2009. In 3 unions under Gournadi and Muladi Upazilas<br />

this project has been implementing.<br />

The target of the project :<br />

To develop and practice the sustainable healthy behavior, sanitation, supply of safe<br />

water by involving local people through Local Government Organization.<br />

The objectives of the project :<br />

- To build permanent habit by changing health related behavior<br />

- To develop sanitation methods through the local people’s leadership<br />

- To expand the coverage of safe water supply<br />

- To enhance the capacity of the government, local government, organization and<br />

private stakeholders to accomplish the above mentioned purposes.<br />

- To centralize the administrative and financial power of the Local Government<br />

Organizations for sanitation and supply of safe drinking water<br />

The second phase of HYSAWA project started from 1 st January <strong>2011</strong> and ended on<br />

3. Operation of Union WATSAN Committee:<br />

This meeting is held every month. 25 members attend this meeting including UP<br />

Chairman, Member, Elite, NGO Representatives, Advocate, Imam and teacher.<br />

Hygiene and Sanitation matters of the union is discussed in this meeting.<br />

4. Operation of Ward WATSAN Committee:<br />

This meeting is held in every Ward. 14 members attend this meeting including UP<br />

Chairman, Member, Elite, NGO Representatives, Advocate, Imam and teacher. 14<br />

members are there including one Advisor, and one Chairman, and meeting holds<br />

once a month. Hygiene and Sanitation information of the union is discussed in this<br />

meeting.<br />

5. Operation of CDF :<br />

CDF has 9 members committee. Hygiene ,Sanitation, maintenance of deep tube<br />

wells matters of the union is discussed in this meeting. Apart form this child<br />

marriage, dowry, HIV-AIDS etc. discussed in this meeting and all programs are<br />

monitored.<br />

6. Sinking, usage and maintenance of DTW :<br />

In this union 50 DTW sunk and one male and one female got caretaker training for<br />

every DTW. Now the beneficiaries use safe water<br />

7. Hygiene and Sanitation program at field level :<br />

The Sanitation program is implemented through hygiene promotion program<br />

by conducting Courtyard sessions, Tea stall sessions, CDF meeting, WATSAN<br />

meeting and awareness meeting<br />

♥Awareness Building program for 100% healthy latrines :<br />

The local people of the area have been inspired for 100% healthy latrines through<br />

Awareness Building program. 97% coverage has been made in the area for latrines.<br />

This activities are implemented through house visit, Ward WATSAN Committee<br />

meeting, CDF meeting, courtyard sessions, tea stall meeting of hygiene program.<br />

♥ Remarkable Achievements of the Project :<br />

- The target people wash hands carefully before eating and after using toilet.<br />

- They cover their food always<br />

- They wash fruit before eating and vegetables before cutting<br />

- They participate in health education sessions<br />

- They use healthy latrines.<br />

- They clean their latrines regularly<br />

- They dispose waste in hole and cover it.<br />

- They collect, maintain and drink water healthfully.<br />

- The Caretakers clean the water source regularly<br />

- They repair DTW with everyone after it is harmed.<br />

♥ Vulnerable Group Development ( VGD ) Program :<br />

The non government NGO, LTN, has been implementing the above project in<br />

Babugonj and Gournadi Upazilas to make the VGD beneficiaries’ women self-reliant<br />

with the funding support from Women Affairs Department. With 3 years duration this<br />

project has been implementing in ( 2009-2010) and ( <strong>2011</strong>-2012) circles.<br />

Life Skill Training for VGD women<br />

♥ The target of the project : To make the poor mass self-reliant.<br />

♥ The objectives of this project :<br />

- To build the savings attitude among the VGD women<br />

- To facilitate the VGD women to participate in social awareness and<br />

income generating activities.<br />

- To make the women self-reliant through various training.<br />

- To inspire them to participate various income generating activities.<br />

♥ Staff Orientation :<br />

To enhance the skill of the staffs and to implement the activities effectively initially 5<br />

days long training has been imparted to appointed staffs, so that at the field level the<br />

skill development training to the VGD women can be imparted skillfully.<br />

25-30 women are formed in a a group to implement the training and savings<br />

♥ Cllection of Weekly Savings :<br />

Every VGD saves Taka 10 per week which is treated as VGD Savings. This savings<br />

is collected from VGD women as per Group. This savings is deposited for inspiring<br />

the women in income generation process. When the VGD women program duration<br />

is ended , the savings has been refunded to the women.<br />

♥ Follow-up :<br />

The VGD women are committed for the income generation training. After the<br />

training, whether the women are doing the same or not, the Field Trainers have<br />

observed that.<br />

♥ Results :<br />

- The savings attitude built among the women<br />

- They are inspired to participate in the training<br />

- They have been inspired to income generating activities.<br />

♥ Women Empowerment and Women Leadership<br />

Advancement project :<br />

With the funding assistance of the donor Govt NGO Foundation, the programs<br />

for establishing rights and empowerment are being implemented at Banaripara<br />

Upazila, Barisal, from 2007. On the basis of successful implementation of this<br />

project from 2007-2009, the duration of the project has been extended from<br />

July 2010 to June 2012 where this project has been contributing services at<br />

government and private level to prevent violence against women and to<br />

establish women rights.<br />

Monthly meeting of watch Group<br />

♥ The Goal of the project :<br />

- To ensure justice for oppressed women and to establish<br />

the rights of women which will be comparatively more<br />

improved.<br />

♥ The objectives of the project :<br />

1. To enhance the awareness of people and elite and to empower the women<br />

members of Union Parishad so that they can claim and preserve women<br />

rights institutionally .<br />

2. To enhance connection and cooperation between people elite , grassroots<br />

women and the women representatives of UP and to ensure the justice of<br />

rural women cooperation among local government agencies and other<br />

organizations.<br />

- Workshop of the UP women and child welfare standing committee and<br />

women oppression prevention committee<br />

- Workshop on the prevention of child marriage and dowry.<br />

- Training to prevent violence against women in UP level<br />

The remarkable achievements of the project :<br />

- Marriage taken place in the target area without dowry<br />

To operate school session regularly : There are 15 schools in this project. There<br />

are 30 students in each school total 300 students. 15 teachers teach the students<br />

regularly.<br />

Teachers’ orientation : In the project area Banaripara Upazila, one day refresher’s<br />

course are held with 10 teachers. Sometimes the duration of the course is extended.<br />

The program Organizer of the project operate the refresher’s course. Programmer<br />

TSS of BRAC’s ESP-NFPE attends during the orientation.<br />

Training : The program organizer imparts training on teachers’ orientation and<br />

activities. The workers become skilled for this project and the standard is enhanced.<br />

Monitoring : The program organizer monitor the project activities regularly and it is<br />

his duty and responsibility.<br />

The ongoing monitoring enables the students to get the teaching regularly.<br />

Supervision and Follow-up : The TSS of BRAC for this project regularly supervise<br />

the schools and performs follow up.<br />

♥ The Child Law and Rehabilitation Program :<br />

With the cooperation of Bangladesh Shihu Adhikar Forum ( BSAF ), LTN has been<br />

undertaking various programs to establish law and rehabilitation of children from<br />

2007.<br />

The programs are as below :<br />

- In this project LTN provided legal support to 3 oppressed children in the<br />

center of Aparajeo Bangla, for disadvantaged and street children.<br />

- Two sewing machines have been offered to 2 disadvantaged children and<br />

legal support to 2 oppressed children of this center.<br />

- Apart from this 10 sewing machines have been given to 10 disadvantaged<br />

children and also provided them training on sewing and block batik with<br />

the support from Bangladesh Sishu Odhikar Forum<br />

♥ Rights based program for people with disability :<br />

LTN started program for the people with disability from the year 2004 – 2005, for<br />

Banaripara Upazila . The technical support for this project given by Jatiya<br />

Protibondhi Foundation ( National Foundation for Disabled ) . LTN came to an<br />

agreement with National Foundation for Disabled in the year 2006 for financial<br />

support to disable program.<br />

given to Jatiya Protibondhi Foundation for disabled people credit program and health<br />

♥ WATER AND SANITATION PROJECT :<br />

8 unions under Banaripara Upazila has been included for water and sanitation<br />

project through Ahsania Mission financed by DPHE-DANIDA. LTN started this<br />

project in the year 1999 and this project will continue till June 2005. The DPHE-<br />

DANIDA Water and Sanitation Projects aims at supplying arsenic free safe<br />

drinking water and contributing sanitation awareness for the target mass to<br />

uplift their general health conditions. In this project poor families are supplied<br />

with deep tube wells and the target mass are aware through training, yard<br />

session, poster-leaflets distribution, and by observing national days. Under<br />

this component there are existing 431 groups in 8 unions comprising women<br />

6306, men 10038, children 3627, i.e; total 19971 group members in Banaripara<br />

Upazila. 621 deep tube well have already been sunk. Among which AMC-354<br />

and Rural-267. 77 deep tube well have been sunk in fiscal year 2003-2004.LTN<br />

operates school hygiene program among 128 schools in 8 unions and sanitary<br />

latrine has been installed in 16 school. The activities LTN operates for that<br />

♥ Arsenic Mitigation Program :<br />

With the support of DPHE Danida funding support this program has been<br />

implementing in 8 unions of Banaripara Upazila from the year 2001. The<br />

components for this program are:<br />

To ensure building and functioning of arsenic purification units.<br />

To ensure arsenic purification at family level.<br />

To operate the rural components for building social awareness on arsenic<br />

contamination.<br />

♥ The Skill and Capacity Building Training of Union Parishad<br />

Members :<br />

With the funding assistance from PRIP TRUST, this project has been implementing<br />

in Banaripara Upazila from 1999. In this project in various Training, seminars and<br />

workshops idea on child marriage, polygamy, dowry, divorce, women oppression is<br />

being given to UP women members. Apart from this in various areas, forum and<br />

networks have been formed of the women for various development. As now the<br />

funding for this project has been ceased, the project is implementing in forums and<br />

networks.<br />

♥ Fish Culture :<br />

From 2003- 2005 LTN implemented the project of cage fish culture supported by<br />

CARE-Bangladesh. In 5 villages of Chakhar union of Banaripara Upazila this project<br />

was implemented. The small and marginal farmers benefited from this project. And<br />

fish fry was distributed free of cost.<br />

To sustain this program LTN now contributing loan to the farmers. As a result the<br />

farmers are benefited. They have no pond and they can culture fish in rivers and<br />

cannels. In the floow-up observation it is seen that the farmers the farmers have<br />

been making more profit by making more cages for fish culture.<br />

♥ SMALL BUSINESS PROGRAM :<br />

With the support from Practical Action Program LTN started this program from<br />

April 2002 .<br />

The small business are encouraged through training and related cooperation<br />

to market business by Practical Action Program in this project. Apart from this<br />

Practical Action Program provides technical assistance and skill development<br />

training to allied organizations and arrange for study tour.<br />

♥ WOMEN RIGHTS PROJECT :<br />

LTN undertaking women rights project from October 2004 with the partnership<br />

South Asia Partnership ( SAP ) financed by Manuser Jonno. This project has<br />

been undertaken at Banaripara, Bakergonj and Muladi Upazilas of Barisal<br />

District in 2007. Initial Baseline survey has been performed and a primary<br />

statistical view on child marriage, dowry, polygamy, divorce and violation of<br />

women rights of the target areas has been prepared.<br />

THE TARGET OF THE PROJECT :<br />

The projects target to ensure preservation of women rights and decreasing<br />

gender discrimination. Now the position of women is more improved than it<br />

was when the project started.<br />

Objective 1 : To enhance the capacity of general people, elite, and women<br />

leaders in the Union Parishad & especially poor women and make them vocal .<br />

Objective -2 : To take the activity for network, joint actions and capacity of<br />

elite, grassroots women and women leaders in the Union Parishad for<br />

obtaining justice to reduce the violence against women.<br />

Victim support is an ongoing program of women rights project. Many disputes like<br />

dowry, child marriage, illegal divorce can be reconciled at field level. For JFC legal<br />

aid program of IFC the victims pleaders’ support.<br />

Formation and operation of Watcdog :<br />

24 JFC formed at Banaripara, Bakergonj and Muladi Upazila. The UP Women<br />

member become the member of JFC. 15 members WD includes UP Male &<br />

Female Members, Elite, NGO Representatives, Teachers, Doctors, Reporters,<br />

LTN has operated awareness building program to make voters’ list with picture<br />

financed by Democracy Watch Bangladesh in support of the Election<br />

Commission of Bangladesh.<br />

The objective of the program : To aware the unconscious voters<br />

1. Microphone Advertisement : Microphone Advertisement campaign has<br />

been operated in various villages and Upazilas to make the voters<br />

aware.<br />

2. Special Meeting : A Field level special meeting was held among the<br />

Union Committee Chairmen, Members, Masque Immams and all walks of<br />

people to aware them on voters’ list with picture, Chief Guest was Mr.<br />

Manirul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Barisal Election Commission<br />

and Presided by Md. A. Malek, Upazila Nirbahi Officer. LTN workers<br />

operated the meeting. 100 people participated in the meeting.<br />

3. Rally: Two rally held in every union. The Union Committee Chairmen,<br />

Members, Masque Immams and all walks of people participated in the<br />

rally and so it aware the areas profoundly.<br />

4. Banner Display : Banners displayed in various populated spots and<br />

many watched them and were aware.<br />

5. Distribution of Leaflets and <strong>Hand</strong>bills : Leaflets and <strong>Hand</strong>bills have been<br />

distributed among 3000 people.<br />

♥ Relief, Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Program :<br />

Distribution of Housing Materials<br />

LTN from its own fund operates relief program to river erosion area and to flood<br />

victims. Apart from this LTN distributes winter warm clothes to destitute people. LTN<br />

has been operating relief program for 5000 victims of SIDR on 15 November 2007 in<br />

Bakergonj and Banaripara Upazila with funding support from various donors. The<br />

relief materials includes :<br />

- Blanket<br />

- Daily use materials<br />

Educational materials to disadvantaged children of NFE program such as Bag,<br />

watert pot, Flask etc.<br />

To mitigate the sufferings of diarrhea affected people, 10,000 saline and water<br />

purification tablets has been distributed in Kathalia and Amua Union of Jhalakati<br />

district<br />

Apart from this the victims have been given house, healthy latrines and tube wells<br />

repairing.<br />

There have been effective monitoring and follow up to implement these programs<br />

Apart from this other programs include :<br />

- With the support from UNDP daily materials has been distributed to 5000 families in<br />

Nalua Union of Bakergonj Upazila<br />

- With the funding support fro Muhit Foundation, Tin has been distributed among the<br />

victims as rehabilitation service<br />

- Bag, water pot, and sweater has been distributed with the funding assistance<br />

Gonnosakhorota Ovijan in Banaripara Upazila<br />

- Distribution of Quarbani meat among the destitute : With the funding support from<br />

Zakat Foundation, Quarbani meat has been distributed among the destitute in 2008.<br />

Case Study-1<br />

Rabeya, a victim of rape wants justice so that other girls can not be rapped due to<br />

sincerely and poverty.<br />

Rabeya, daughter of a poor family in Sonahar village of Banaripara Upazila, Barisal.<br />

She was the victim of rape at the age of 14 by a member of the home area , her<br />

relation called Azahar Ghorami , 45 years<br />

Incidence :<br />

Rabeya’s mother a widow covers her days by begging alms. On 30/5/2006 motjer<br />

was not in the house. On the absence of mother, Azahar Ghorami raped her and<br />

threatened her to death if she said the incidence to anyone. But Rabeya told the<br />

matter to wife of the rapper. She told to suppress the incidence or otherwise Rabeya<br />

would be in danger. Rabeya did not tell it anyone on fear. When Rabeya became<br />

pregnant , the wife or rapper tackled it. But in one stage Rabeya told to her mother.<br />

But the mother had no capacity to take legal action and Azahar Ghorami is an<br />

influential person. After it mother and daughter went to women member and<br />

convenor of women watchdog committee Jobunahar.<br />

The action taken by Women Rights Project :<br />

When Rabeya told the matter to Convener, women rights project, she accused them<br />

not to inform them earlier. She at once informed the matter to Banaripara Chairman,<br />

JFC Focal Point and NOP Project. To file case the Chairman would involve as a<br />

witness and asked assistance from NOP. After it the conveyor took Rabeya to<br />

Barisal for medical test and on 06.08.2006 a case was filed through NOP. The JFC<br />

Focal point operated the case. For the influence and bribe of the defendant, he could<br />

not be apprehended. So, case filed again and asked the OC to apprehend the<br />

defendant.<br />

The endeavor of LTN :<br />

When the mother and daughter were in insecurity after filing the case, they were<br />

taken in shelter of Oparajeo Bangla.<br />

Present position : The accused now in jail. Rabeya wants justice. Rabeya now taking<br />

sewing training on the initiative of LTN<br />

Case Study-2<br />

The only dream Anne had to stand on her own feet after taking education. None like<br />

her, should not be married in the early age. And their dream are not shattered and<br />

not they are under women oppression.<br />

Mamataz Jahan Anne, beautiful daughter of the poor parents.in Kundihar village,<br />

Banaripara Upazila, Barisal. On only 15 years the parents let her married with a rich<br />

businessman Md. Mebullah.<br />

Incidence :<br />

Md. Mebullah has become crazy to marry Anne and on his proposal the guardians<br />

let Anne married with Md. Mebullah on 22/4/2005. Md. Mebullah has taken much<br />

dowry during the marriage. After few months, severe torture has come on Anne.<br />

Anne’s husband claimed motor cycle, mobile set, gold ornaments and cash Taka<br />

100000 as dowry. Anne rejected this undue claim . Md. Mebullah became very angry<br />

on this protest and burn with cigarette in Anne’s hand and his family members also<br />

started oppression. Md. Mebullah stopped Anne’s study though he promised her<br />

education after marriage. They have not given much food to Anne. Day by day the<br />

torture gone up and they made Anne house arrest. One day Anne escaped to her<br />

father’s house with help from a neighbor. She told everything to her parents and in<br />

the Shalishi by Chairman and elite gone astray. Anne’s husband claimed Taka<br />

100000 and if his clain not met he would marry another girls with dowry.<br />

The initiative from women rights project :<br />

For many months her husband not inquired of her. Anne also not like to return to her<br />

husband’s house because she was terrified on the torture of her husband and family.<br />

In one stage JFC member and <strong>report</strong>er known this matter and secured Anne to help<br />

from women rights project. Anne was referred to BLAST by project officer of women<br />

rights project and JFC Focal Point. When Anne’s husband not came after three<br />

notice, it is decided to file case against him. Anne wants not return to her husband<br />

and claims Take 100000 as her Kabin and justice against her husband. At the same<br />

she likes to be self reliant by education. Anne expects none is married in early age,<br />

not become victim of torture .<br />

Present condition :<br />

Anne filed a case to Anti Women and Child Opression court on last 1/03/07. JFC<br />

Focal Point operates the case and he expects Anne will have justice.<br />

Case Study-3<br />

Blue Akter, student of class eight comes from Sadar Upazila of Jhalakati district and Mintu<br />

from Machrong village of Banaripara union in Banaripara district loves each other. On last<br />

11/02/05 Blue Akter came to Mintu from her house and both decided to get married. But the<br />

guardians of both are not agreed . Here it is to be noted that both boy and girl are not in age<br />

to get married. The occurrence came to notice to Watchdog Committee member Ms. Sondha<br />

Rani and she inquired the matter from various people. Finally Sondha Rani taughts them<br />

both about the child marriage and adviced them to restrain from marriage. But they didn’t<br />

agree. So, she <strong>report</strong>ed it to elite of the locality. The watchdog brought the guardian of the<br />

girl and they asked the cooperation of the watchdog to stop this marriage. Then on 13/02/06<br />

the matter was settled and they were freed from child marriage.<br />

The watdog committee advised them to continue their study and on due time get married.<br />

Now it is found that Blue Akter is involved in education.<br />

Case Study-4<br />

Mahinur Begum lives in Labonsora village, Banaripara Upazila, Barisal. At her 15 years of<br />

age her guardians let he married in Songotkati village at Sarupkati Upazila.<br />

Incidence :<br />

Mahinur’s husband was married earlier it was not known. But he separated from his<br />

prevcious wife before marriage. After one year of marriage, Mahinur borne a beautiful<br />

daughter. After this her huband started to torture her for dowry. His previous wife liked to<br />

come again in his family. He did not pay much food to wife and daughter. The UP Chairman<br />

took initiative to settle the matter but not succeeded. After this Mahinur came back to her<br />

father’s house on torture.<br />

Role of LTN :<br />

Mahinur went to UP Member Shamim Jakia for settlement. As a member of LTN, Jakia took<br />

the victim to LTN. LTN too the victim to BLAST and BLAST issued a legal notice the<br />

husband. Her husband came on date and BLAST settled the matter and Mahinur went back<br />

to her husband. Within 15 days, turture again started to Mahinur. The husband does not give<br />

livings to the wife. After this according to the complaint , BLAST issued 2 nd notice, warning<br />

the husband that if complain would come again, the case would be filed against him and<br />

BLAST would cover all expenses for that case. On this condition, the husband took Mahinur<br />

to the house.<br />

Present Position :<br />

Now Mahinur covers her days happily with her husband.<br />

Case Study-5<br />

Two years ago, Morgina Begum of Tetla Village, Banaripara Upazila married Rafiqul Islam in<br />

a village near about. As it was love marriage, the father & mother in laws have not accepted<br />

this marriage and started mental torture. In one stage Rafiqul married again leaving the<br />

family.<br />

After this, the father & mother in laws drove Margina out and when Morgina went to UP<br />

Chairman for settlement, he passed verdict in favor of Rafiqul and settled divorce with Taka<br />

5000. Morgina hasn’t accepted this settlement and came to Watchdog and JFC.<br />

After the Focal point went to Rafiqul with other 5 members but he did not pay any<br />

importance. After this when warning issued to file a case, they came to a settlement and on<br />

10/07/2005, they paid Taka 50,000 and the divorce took place. This Taka 50,000 now saved<br />

with the bank account of Morgina. The incidence mobilized the area.<br />

The Family History :<br />

Parul Akter, student of class eight, is the eldest daughter among 4 children of her parents<br />

and her father is a saw mill technician. Taking advantage of the poverty of the parents, Liton<br />

Hawlader – 30 years, son of Md. Kashem Ali Hawlader, live in the adjacent village called<br />

Bhobanipur in Padrisibpur Union, Bakergonj, forcefully married Parul. After marriage when<br />

Parul complained of sexual, physical and mental torture of her husband to her parents, her<br />

husband became furious and taking signature from Parul’s parents on Government Stamp,<br />

he declared if Parul died, he would not be responsible. He took Parul to Dhaka at Postogola<br />

and kept Parul in a rented house where many of his friends started to propose many lewd<br />

matters.<br />

On hearing all these, her husband again started to torture her and one day on 29 th day<br />

before came to Dhaka , asked her to accompany him to Asulia . On a micro bus , Liton took<br />

Parul beside him but Parul started to sweat. Liton dried sweat with a handkerchief and<br />

suddenly Parul sensed numbness in hands and feet. On her consciousness, Parul found in a<br />

Police Station where everyone was speaking Hindi. After inquiring, she <strong>report</strong>ed that she<br />

had been captured by Puna Police in India and would be produced to Court. The Indian<br />

Court later sent her to Mrs. Desh Pandey’s Care Homes.<br />

Parul husband Liton <strong>report</strong>ed her parent that Parul escaped with Taka 1,00,000 with other<br />

boy and so, he filed a dairy in the court. Now her parents tried to free her from India Home<br />

and told to the Project Officer Zahid Iqbal of LTN to help them so that Parul could be brought<br />

from India. Zahid Iqbal <strong>report</strong>ed to SAP Bangladesh and SAP Bangladesh initiated all<br />

diplomatic and legal process to bring back Parul to Bangladesh.<br />

Under this process, the Indian authority, released Parul from Home and she was pushed<br />

back to Bangladesh when BDR captured her and BDR sent Parul to her parents. Her<br />

husband Liton again tried to capture her and torture her but Zahid Iqbal filed a complain to<br />

BLAST on this case. Now her husband complained of her bad character and other matter.<br />

BLAST heard complain from two parties and Parul to be rehabilitated somewhere In Sishu<br />

Odhikar Forum.<br />
