F. COMPLIANCE WITH TOXIC POLLUTANT STANDARD OR PROHIBITION<br />

If any applicable effluent standard or prohibition (including any schedule <strong>of</strong> compliance spccified in such effluent standard or<br />

prohibition) is established under Section 307(a) <strong>of</strong> the FWPCA, 33 U.S.c. Section 1317(a), for a toxic pollutant discharged by<br />

the <strong>Permit</strong>tee, and such standard or prohibition is more stringent than any discharge limitation on the pollutant specified in<br />

Provision I. A. <strong>of</strong> this penmit or controls a pollutant not limited in Provision f. A. <strong>of</strong> this permit, this penmit shall be modified to<br />

conform to the toxic pollutant effluent standard or prohibition. and the <strong>Permit</strong>tee shall be notified <strong>of</strong> such modification. ]fthis<br />

penmit has not been modified to confonm to the toxic pollutant effluent standard or prohibition before the effective date <strong>of</strong> such<br />

standard or prohibition, the Penmittee shall attain compliance with the rcquirements <strong>of</strong> the standard or prohibition within the<br />

time period required by the standard or prohibition and shall continue to comply with the standard or prohibition until this<br />

penmit is modified or reissued.<br />

G. NOTICE TO DIRECTOR OF INDUSTRIAL USERS<br />

I. The Penmittee shall not allow the introduction <strong>of</strong> wastewater, other than domestic wastewater, from a new direct<br />

discharger prior to approval and permitting, if applicable, <strong>of</strong> the discharge by the <strong>Department</strong>.<br />

2. The Penmittee shall not allow an existing indirect discharger to increase the quantity or change the character <strong>of</strong> its<br />

wastewater, other than domestic wastewater, prior to approval and penmitting, if applicable, <strong>of</strong> the increased discharge by<br />

the <strong>Department</strong>.<br />

3. The Penmittee shall report to the <strong>Department</strong> any adverse impact caused or believed to be caused by an indirect discharger<br />

on the treatment process, quality <strong>of</strong> discharged water, or quality <strong>of</strong> sludge. Such report shall be submitted within seven<br />

days <strong>of</strong> the Penmittee becoming aware <strong>of</strong> the adverse impacts.<br />

H. PROHIBITIONS<br />

The Penmittee shall not allow, and shall take effective enforcement action to prevent and tenminate, the introduction <strong>of</strong> any <strong>of</strong><br />

the following into its treatment works by industrial users:<br />

I. Pollutants which create a fire or explosion hazard in the treatment works;<br />

2. Pollutants which will cause corrosive structural damage to the treatment works, or dischargers with a pH lower than 5.0<br />

s.u., unless the works are specifically designed to accommodate such discharges;<br />

3. Solid or viscous pollutants in amounts which will cause obstruction <strong>of</strong>flow in sewers, or other interference with the<br />

treatment works;<br />

4. Pollutants, including oxygen demanding pollutants, released in a discharge <strong>of</strong> such volume or strength as to cause<br />

interference in the treatment works;<br />

5. Heat in amounts which will inhibit biological activity in the treatment plant resulting in interference or in such quantities<br />

that the temperature <strong>of</strong> the treatment plant influent exceeds 40°C (104° F) unless the treatment plant is designed to<br />

accommodate such heat; and<br />

6. Pollutants in amounts which exceed any applicable pretreatment standard under Section 307 <strong>of</strong> FWPCA or any approved<br />

revisions there<strong>of</strong>.
