Cont<strong>in</strong>u<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Professional</strong> Development<br />

Under national registration nurses and midwives must undertake 20 hours of cont<strong>in</strong>u<strong>in</strong>g<br />

professional development each year as part of the requirements to re-register with the<br />

Nurs<strong>in</strong>g and Midwifery Board of Australia. Many ANF Education Centre courses, sem<strong>in</strong>ars<br />

and workshops qualify as cont<strong>in</strong>u<strong>in</strong>g professional development. Participants are provided with<br />

documentation for their professional portfolio <strong>in</strong> the event they are <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> a Nurs<strong>in</strong>g and<br />

Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) audit. For details visit www.ahpra.gov.au<br />

Participants who attend both days will automatically achieve 70% of the 20 hours cont<strong>in</strong>u<strong>in</strong>g<br />

professional development required to renew their nurs<strong>in</strong>g or midwifery registration.<br />

health centres, maternal and child health cl<strong>in</strong>ics, general medical cl<strong>in</strong>ics, schools, prisons, the<br />

Australian Red Cross Blood Service and the Royal District Nurs<strong>in</strong>g Service.<br />
