New Funding Source LG 555 Questions Answered
Most of you should have now received a copy of the LG 555
form with your supplies. Many have already taken advantage
of this new funding source which was granted by the
2005 legislature. Some question keep coming in to the office
as to how to use this form. The basic procedures are explained
on the back of the form.
The short explanation is: This form is filled out as a request
by you to be presented to your local charitable gambling
function. This request is then presented to the board who
govern funds from your local source. The board then approves
or denies your request. If approved they write you a
check from their fund. You make the approved purchase. A
copy of the approval (yellow copy) is then sent along with
your next roster to Camp Ripley. Many instructors have
jumped in on this opportunity and received lots of support
from their local gambling boards. Some examples of what
have been approved/purchased so far are: Student Fees
paid, DVD/VCR, Tables, Chairs, Computer Projector, 27 inch
TV, Henry Mini-bolt 22s.

submit your order for supplies at
least 30 days prior to the start date of
your class. This insures that you
will receive your supplies well before
the starting date. Please check your
supplies immediately upon receipt
and notify us if there is something
missing.

again received with student s who
could not lawfully be in the class because
they were too young.

Please notify us of any change in address
you might have.
***You can help in minimizing data
entry errors in several ways.***
First, remind parents of importance
of printing their son or daughter’s
full legal name and DOB legibly on
the parental release form.
Second, double-check these forms
when they give them back to you. If
Community Ed is doing the registration,
educate their staff on the importance
of a legible, full legal name and
DOB.
Third, please print legibly when filling
out the Student Roster and double-check
the students full legal
name/DOB again.
Fourth, remind students to check
their card for accuracy once they receive
it. If there is an error, have
them contact us at 1-800-366-8917
ASAP. Remind them that inaccurate
information on their card may prevent
them from being able to obtain
a hunting license.
