In all, 15 respondents which represented 100% said both formal and informal forms of tax<br />
education are used. This signifies that indeed the various attempts by the tax agencies in<br />
educating the general public on tax evasion are having a positive impact on them.<br />
4.2.3 Response to the question “what are some of the reasons why people evade tax?<br />
From the study conducted, it was revealed that people evade tax due to certain reasons being<br />
identified by the revenue institutions in the sub-sector of the Ghanaian economy. The following<br />
are the reasons why people evade tax in the Ghanaian economy. Most of the Ghanaian citizens<br />
find it unpleasant in paying tax because they think that there are loopholes in the tax system.<br />
Inability of paying tax as a result of the high imposition of tax rates.<br />
Insufficient profit by earned from day to day business.
