Flush Fund
As most members of Zion know, we had a
major underground project this year. The
parsonage began to show the “sick septic system
syndrome”—backing up sewage—and Mr.
Plumber was not going to handle the fix. The
following events then took place:
1. Permit to proceed $ 429.00
2. Trench for new drain field 3,500.00
a. 20 x 70 feet, 9 feet deep at
septic tank to 2 to 3 feet deep
at the southern end
b. time, talent, gravel, equipment
(excavator, bull-dozer, dump truck)
donated by Mark Anderson, Chad Hord,
and Jim Anderson
3. Wm. Dyer (licensed septician) $1,098.73
septic tanks pumped, pipe layout
(according to code)
4. Steve Charlevoix supply of $1.881.39
crushed rock and sand
(according to code)
5. Filled and leveled
donated by those in 2.b. above,
plus others
Total cost: $6,909.12
All bills have been paid in full, but it did strain
the budget and wipe out our Improvement Fund.
