Delivery standards<br />
These timetables are guidelines only and based on reasonable expectations and experience. Australia <strong>Post</strong><br />
will not be liable for any loss or damage (including but not limited to consequential loss) resulting from a<br />
failure to deliver in accordance with these timetables.<br />
The delivery standards for regular mail within Australia are as follows (in business days).<br />
The Surface Mail (formerly Off Peak) service is available with PreSort Letters, Charity Mail and Acquisition<br />
Mail (see pages 8 and 9). It is based on surface / road transport and provides delivery within a two business<br />
day window. For more detail, visit auspost.com.au/presort.<br />

Compensation<br />
Compensation up to $50 for loss or damage during carriage may be paid at Australia <strong>Post</strong>’s discretion upon<br />
production of a receipt or other proof of lodgement.<br />
Small letters<br />
Small letters include enveloped mail, lettersheets and unenclosed postcards.<br />
A small letter is:<br />
• no larger than 130mm x 240mm<br />
• no thicker than 5mm<br />
• no heavier than 250g.<br />

Sealing of small letters is preferred, but if posted unsealed, the opening should not exceed 88mm. To avoid<br />
envelopes being trapped in machinery or other letters, envelopes should exceed 88mm x 138mm.<br />

Small letters that are postage paid by an approved postage meter<br />
or an Australia <strong>Post</strong> business charge account<br />
Seasonal greeting card enclosed in a sealed envelope and endorsed<br />
CARD ONLY – only available during November and December<br />
Priority letter* $2.60<br />
* For letters up to 20g, we offer the Priority letter next day delivery service. This service is only offered over the<br />
