It is advisable to co-ordinate the management plan with the German National Committee<br />
of ICOMOS. A draft statement of significance and justification of the outstanding<br />
universal value must be presented <strong>for</strong> approval to the Committee. If this<br />
draft is provided <strong>for</strong> the first time when the management plan is submitted, it should<br />
be accompanied by a letter asking to submit the draft to the <strong>World</strong> <strong>Heritage</strong> Committee<br />
<strong>for</strong> review and approval.<br />
2.2 Statement of authenticity and/or integrity<br />
The overarching criteria of authenticity and/or integrity also underlie the decision<br />
of whether to inscribe a site on the <strong>World</strong> <strong>Heritage</strong> List. Authenticity 5 refers to the<br />
truthful and credible conveyance of the historic and cultural significance of the site.<br />
Depending on the cultural context, authenticity has to be expressed in a convincing<br />
and genuine manner through numerous attributes. Authenticity manifests itself in<br />
