THE DEVELOPMENT AND HISTORY OF
SCHICK HOTELS
YESTERDAY AS TODAY
The oldest hotel in the Schick network,
once the ‘Weiße Rose’ (White Rose) inn and today
the proud Hotel Stefanie, has fostered Austrian
hospita lity for over 300 years. In 1870, the greatgrandfather
of Dr. Martin Schick acquired the
famous hotel, which with its 110 rooms at the time
was among the largest in Vienna.
The hotel’s bourgeois tradition is honoured today
and is also reflected in the four additional hotels
that bear the Schick banner. The Hotel Am Parkring
has been part of Vienna’s largest private hotel group
since 1979; the Hotel Capricorno was added in
1980, Hotel City Central in 1990 and finally the
time-honoured Hotel Erzherzog Rainer in 1994.
Since 2006 the Appartements City Central complete
our offer.

S ince 1703 the primary
address for hospitality: initially
called the ‘Weiße Rose’ (White
Rose) inn, the name was later
changed to ‘Hotel Stefanie’ to
commemorate the marriage
of Princess Stefanie of Belgium
