Acoustically insulating and stress-relieving underlay for tiling work
Installation of ceramic tiles
Description:
Underlay matting for stress-free and acoustically insulated
installation of large and small format tiling, natural and
artificial stone on thin- and medium-bed adhesives in
interior locations.
Especially suitable on:

Suitable for use in domestic locations and in commercial
areas with domestic wear levels (2kN/m 2 ); in conjunction
with UZIN moisture barrier systems, also in damp areas
with moisture classification I – II (in accordance with notice
issued by the ZDB). Before using in commercial wet areas,
in areas with heavy mechanical loading or with very small
format tiling, please obtain technical advice. The higher the
expected loading, the higher must be the tensile strength
of the surface materials to be used. Tiles should have
a tensile strength of min. 1500 N, corresponding to an
approx. 8 mm thick STZ tile, and a format of more than
20 x 20 cm. Natural stone should be min. 15 mm thick.
Product Properties/Benefits:
Underlay matting comprising a special, elastic centre layer
with a laminated reinforcing fleece material on each side.
Compensates for existing shear and tensile stresses
between subfloor and covering, bridges cracks and, at the
same time, considerably reduces impacted and resonated
sound often experiences with floor tiling. Combines
underfoot and ambient comfort with technically reliable
performance and is, therefore, ideal for use in renovation
and refurbishment work.

UZIN Multimoll ® SoftSonic ®
Substrate Preparation:
The substrate must be load-bearing, level, bending resistant,
clean and free from materials that would impair
adhesion of the UZIN installation materials used. Flowscreeds
must be abraded and vacuumed. Test the substrate
in accordance with applicable standards and notices and
report any deficiencies. Mechanically remove any weak or
soft surface areas. Prepare the surface with UZIN primer
and smoothing compound according to its type and condition.
Allow primers to dry thoroughly. Refer to the Product
Data Sheets.
Strongly repair cracks in floating screeds. Other cracks, up
to 1 mm wide, can be bridged, so long as there is no levels
variation, including under loading.
Application:
Always lay the boards with the printed side uppermost
and off-set (e.g. half bond). For optimum stress-relieving
and acoustically insulating performance, always ensure
that joints are tightly compacted /closed. Until the covering
is laid, keep the surface of the boards dry and dust-free.
Installation with UZIN Power Flex Turbo:
1. With a C1 or C2 notched trowel, apply rapid setting
UZIN Power Flex Turbo evenly onto the surface. Only
apply as much mortar as can be covered within the
working time of approx. 15 minutes.
2. Using a chalk-line guide, immediately lay the underlay
boards into the fresh mortar bed ensuring they are
tightly butted. Immediately scrape out any mortar that
squeezes through the joints and press the boards down
again. Using a sharp knife, cut the boards to fit. Press
down over the whole of the freshly laid surface using a
pressure-roller or rubbing board.
3. The surface is ready to take foot traffic and coverings
after approx. 2 hours.
Installation of the covering onto UZIN Multimoll® SoftSonic®:
1. Before installing the covering, test the surface of the
underlay and, if necessary, seal any open joints with
UZIN D 60 acrylic mastic. Allow the mastic to dry
completely.
2. Install tiling onto the underlay matting with UZIN thinbed
mortar, preferably with UZIN Power Grip flow-bed
mortar or with UZIN Power Flex /-Flex Turbo. When
using the UZIN Power Base /-Plus /-Plus Turbo thin-bed
mortars, or the UZIN Power Fluxx /-Fluxx Turbo flowbed
mortars, add the UZIN Power Mix liquid improver.
Install natural stone flooring on UZIN Stone Flex® or
UZIN Stone Mittelbett®. Ensure full bedding of the
tiles – for this, special trowel notches UZIN-16 or
UZIN-20 are recommended.
3. After an adequate drying time, grout the tiles with
UZIN Brillant Flex, UZIN Brillant Color or UZIN Brillant
Stone.
Important Notes:
3 Shelf life 3 years when store flat in dry conditions.
3 Where there is a risk of subsequent dampness, seal the surface
with UZIN PE 460 sealer-primer.
3 Do not use in exterior locations, in wet areas with high exposure
according to DIN 18 195 Part 5, or under water.
3 Deflection of load-bearing substrates must not exceed a value
of L/600.

UZIN Multimoll® SoftSonic® is ecologically and physiologically harmless and requires
no special protective measures. Refer to the notes on protection of the workplace
and the environment in the Product Data Sheets of the associated installation
materials.
Disposal:
Cutting waste, as well as composites of covering and underlay, are Construction
Waste.

Acoustically insulating and stress-relieving underlay with minimal thickness for bonded parquet flooring
Application for parquet flooring
Description:
Underlay matting for acoustic insulation of bonded parquet
and laminated parquet in interior locations.UZIN
Multimoll® SoftSonic is fully bonded and eliminates shear
foces between the parquet and the substrate.

UZIN Multimoll ® SoftSonic
Substrate Preparation:
The substrate must be sound, level, dry, clean and free
form materials that would impair adhesion of the UZIN
installation materials used.Flow-screeds must be abraded
and vacuumed.Test the substrate in accordance with applicable
standards and notices and report any deficiencies.
Mechanically remove weakly-bonded or soft surface layers.
Strongly repair cracks in floating screeds.Non-moving
hairline cracks can be covered.Mechanically clean, vacuum
and prime surfaces using suitable methods.Use a primer
appropriate for the parquet adhesive.Prime and smooth
uneven surfaces as necessary.According to the type of substrate,
select suitable primer and smoothing compound
form the UZIN Product Guide.Refer to the Product Data
Sheets for the products used.
Application:
All UZIN parquet adhesives are suitable for bonding UZIN
Multimoll® SoftSonic.The UZIN adhesive suitable for the
type of parquet must be used to bond both the UZIN
Multimoll® SoftSonic and the parquet.
Bonding the UZIN Multimoll® SoftSonic
1. Loose lay the boards with the printed side uppermost
and with butted joints (e.g.in half-bond) and cut in.For
optimum stress-relieving and acoustic insulation properties,
ensure tight joints.
2. Lift the boards and spread UZIN parquet adhesive onto
the substrate with trowel notch B3.
3. Lay the boards immediately into the fresh adhesive,
press well down and roll with a glide-roller.Do not
exceed the working time and ensure good adhesive
transfer to the backing of the boards.
4. Depending on adhesive type, the installed boards will
accept foot traffic after 2 – 12 hours and are ready for
parquet installation after 12 – 24 hours.Until the parquet
is installed, keep the boards dry and free from dust.
Bonding the parquet onto the UZIN Multimoll® SoftSonic
1. Apply UZIN parquet adhesive onto the UZIN Multimoll®
SoftSonic using trowel notch B11.Lay the parquet into
the adhesive bed using a light sliding motion and press
well down.Observe the working time.Ensure the best
possible adhesive transfer to the underside of the
parquet.
2. The readiness for sanding and sealing of parquet bonded
onto UZIN Multimoll® SoftSonic is according to the
Product Data Sheet of the UZIN parquet adhesive used.

The following are suitable for bonding UZIN Multimoll®
SoftSonic:
UZIN MK 100 1-component MSP parquet adhesive: for UZIN
Multimoll® SoftSonic, use trowel notch B3, approx.1 kg /m2 .
For parquet, use trowel notch B11, approx.1 kg /m2 .
UZIN MK 92 S 2-component PU parquet adhesive: for UZIN
Multimoll® SoftSonic, use trowel notch B3, approx.1 kg /m2 .
For parquet, use trowel notch B11, approx.1 – 1.2 kg /m2 .
UZIN MK 80 S dispersion parquet adhesive: for UZIN
Multimoll® SoftSonic, use trowel notch B3, approx.1 kg /m2 .
For parquet, use trowel notch B11, approx.1 kg /m2 .
UZIN MK 55 Flex powder parquet adhesive: for UZIN
Multimoll® SoftSonic, use trowel notch B3, approx.500 g /m2 .
For parquet, use trowel notch B11, approx.500 – 600 g /m2 .
Important Notes:
3 Shelf life minimum 3 years lying flat in dry conditions.
3 Not suitable for use in exterior or wet areas.
3 On warm water underfloor heating systems, in accordance
with DIN 66 095, floor coverings should not exceed a thermal
resistivity value of 0.17 m 2 K/W.The thermal resistivity of
underlay/parquet is the sum of the individual thermal resistivity
values, plus approx.0.05 m 2 K/W for the two adhesive
layers.
