equire longer than 28 days, the LHB must inform the referring clinician/patient of an
indication of the amount of time that will be required to complete the review.
6.10 After due consideration, the IPC Review Panel may:
Agree with and uphold the original decision
Disagree with the original decision and request the Board Directors or
IPC Panel to reconsider
Partly agree with the original decision and make its own
recommendations to the IPC Panel and Executive Directors
5.11 Should the referring clinician/patient/third party representative remain
dissatisfied following the review of their case, they will then be directed to the LHB
complaints procedure. Such an approach should normally occur within 28 days of
receipt of the appeals decision.
Section 7 – Audit, Monitoring and Review Arrangements
7.1 The Betsi Cadwaladr University Local Health Board will monitor compliance
with the procedure on an ongoing basis by:
Maintaining a confidential database of all IPC Panel activity (see
sections 3.7, 3.9, 3.10 3.24 and 3.25) and regularly review this activity
Monitoring of all costs incurred through the IPC procedure
7.2 Providing a summary report to the LHB and CPG Boards on a six monthly basis
