Kuchipudi
Born as a ‘TARANGAM’ on the serene banks of River Krishna,
Kuchipudi is the exquisite polished gem in Andhra’s glorious
cultural tradition and draws its name from the village of
Kuchipudi. Like any other classical dance form, Kuchipudi
originated from the priniciples enunciated in Bharata’s Natya
Sastra. Originally pioneered by Siddhendra Yogi, it owes its
present incaranation to Dr.Vempati Chinna Satyam.
Rangapravesam
In Rangapravesam, the dancer ascends (pravesam) the
stage (ranga), thus marking the completion of her initial
training and signifying her blossoming into a dancer. On the
auspicious occasion, the artist presents her talent with great
devotion to her guru and the Divine Dancer Lord Nataraja
while seeking the blessing of critics, fellow artists and
well-wishers who have graciously attended the celebration.
