the republic of Botswana is where the white-hot<br />
Kalahari Desert meets the wild okavango river delta.<br />
it is about 600,370 sq km big with a population of<br />
1.6 million; 60% consists of the Batswana tribe. the<br />
languages spoken are English <strong>and</strong> Setswana.<br />
Air Botswana, the nation’s flag carrier, flies to most of<br />
Botswana’s tourist spots like Maun, chobe, francistown<br />
<strong>and</strong> Selebi Phikwe.<br />
cLiMAtE AND hEALth:<br />

Botswana’s climate is semi-arid. though it is hot <strong>and</strong><br />
dry for much of the year, there is a rainy season, which<br />
runs through the summer months. Malaria medication is<br />
advisable.<br />
ViSA rEquirEMENtS:<br />
All visitors must hold a passport that is valid for at<br />
least six months. No visas required for uSA, European,<br />
Sc<strong>and</strong>inavian <strong>and</strong> Austrian citizens. Mexican clients<br />
must apply for a visa<br />

ArMS AND AMMuNitioN:<br />
All safaris take place in government <strong>and</strong> community<br />
hunting concessions, or on game ranches in the Kalahari<br />
<strong>and</strong> elsewhere in Botswana, where the outfitter has<br />
hunting rights. the authorities control all government<br />
<strong>and</strong> community fees <strong>and</strong> taxes, therefore they can be<br />
adjusted without prior notice. fair chase hunting is<br />
practiced in the true wilderness areas <strong>and</strong> no trophies<br />
can be guaranteed.<br />
No semi-automatic <strong>and</strong> automatic weapons are allowed.<br />
H<strong>and</strong>guns are permitted. Maximum three rifles <strong>and</strong> 100<br />
rounds of ammunition allowed. No camouflage clothing.<br />
Dangerous game available: elephant, buffalo. Various<br />
plains game available – see pricelist.
