Bank of India and Central Co-operative Bank are the other facilities available on the Campus.<br />
Besides, the University runs some programmes through its Indira Gandhi P.G. Regional<br />
Centre, Meerpur (Rewari) and University Institute of Law & Management Studies (UILMS),<br />
Gurgaon. The Regional Centre offers nine P.G. Programmes, while UILMS offers three.<br />
1.5 Accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)<br />
The University Grants Commission has an autonomous NationalAssessment and<br />
Accreditation Council (NAAC), which has been assigned the task of accreditation and<br />
assessment of the Universities and Colleges. The Peer Team of the NAAC visited the<br />
University on February 18-20, 2003 <strong>for</strong> assessment and accreditation of the University. On<br />
the basis of the report submitted by the team, the National Assessment and Accreditation<br />
Council has granted the <strong>Maharshi</strong> Dayanand University B ++ Grade with institutional score of<br />
80.25. The Peer Team was highly impressed by the infrastructural facilities available in the<br />
University. It has made remarkable comments about the teaching-learning and evaluation<br />
system of the University. It has observed that the University has developed potential <strong>for</strong><br />
achieving excellence in teaching, research and extension. The University endeavors to harvest<br />
the available resources to achieve excellence <strong>for</strong> which there is great potential. University has<br />
got reaccredited it on 27-29th April 2010 and got ‘B’ Grade.<br />
1.6 University Library System (Vivekanand Library)<br />
The University Library System comprises a central library named as Vivekananda Library and five satellite<br />
libraries - Management Library, Engineering Library, Maths Library, Law Library, and Hotel & Tourism<br />
Library. Strategically located , the Vivekananda Library with excellent state-of -the art computer facilities and<br />
cosy furniture is housed in a magnificent 3-storeyed building with 84000 sq. ft. carpet area and a seating<br />
capacity of 963 with another 14000 sq. ft. carpet area and 315 reading seats in its five offshoots. The library<br />
system, with the elegant Vivekananda Library in the vanguard, provides support <strong>for</strong> the academic and research<br />
pursuits.<br />
The Library has a rich collection of knowledge resources – 2,86,861 volumes of books including 14,524<br />
theses, and 47, 645 bound volumes of journals. Besides, 553 Indian and <strong>for</strong>eign journals are subscribed in<br />
print <strong>for</strong>m. Online access is provided to 5300 e-Journals through UGC- Infonet facility, 100 Open Access<br />
Journals, SCOPUS-an Elsevier database of abstracts from about 18,000 science and social science journals, e-<br />
Emeralds Management Plus-a full text database, and MLA Bibliography.<br />
All the functions of the library – check-out check-in, catalogue, serials system, and acquisition system - are<br />
automated. All the divisions / sections of the library have their own PCs <strong>for</strong> data entry and other routine jobs.<br />
The Vivekananda Library maintains the Campus Network, IP-based telephony system and university website.<br />
The library has its own Internet with a connectivity to the Campus Network <strong>for</strong> providing access to its own<br />
databases such as OPAC and e-resources. <strong>In<strong>for</strong>mation</strong> Kiosks are in place <strong>for</strong> accessing the online catalogue<br />
and other databases of the library. The air-conditioned Internet lab of the Library, having 70 Internet connected<br />
computer terminals with a bandwidth connectivity of 1 Gbps, provides access sto e-journals and other eresources.<br />
The multimedia ,library has 20 PCs and headphones each and provides facilities <strong>for</strong> watching<br />
audio/ /video CDs on a variety of subject and Internet surfing. One-to-one videoconferencing facility, wrapped<br />
around state-of-the-art e technology, is another service which the Library provides. Application of RFID<br />
technology <strong>for</strong> check-out check-in and CCTV <strong>for</strong> library security are just three months away.<br />
