June 2012 TRACK & FIELD Championships - The Hub

Track & Field Is Finally Here!
The snow is gone, the leaves are green, the long jump pits
look pretty clean.
The lines on the track are nice and straight, and for our athletes
we cannot wait.
Our volunteers and coaches are excited to start, we hope the
weather does its part.
So get excited because it’s that time of year, that’s right Track
& Field is finally here!
As your 2012 Host Committee, we would like to extend a
huge welcome to the 1,200 ath- letes, 110 coaches, 420
volunteers and all of our visitors who will be
taking part in this our 22nd NWT

Welcome to Track & Field 2012
Championships. We wish each and every one of you a fantastic
stay in Hay River and hope you take advantage of what
our wonderful community has to offer.
We would like to thank local businesses, organizations and
the individuals who have made contributions in the past and
continue to do so each and every year. Also, thank you to our
corporate sponsors whose names appear on the back of the
volunteer coats every year and have generously sponsored a
portion of this meet since 1991.
We would also like to thank our volunteers. Each and every
year we are amazed by your dedication and willingness to go
the extra mile for the kids. You are the reason that this is the
premier event in the Northwest Territories and you should be
very proud.
To our athletes; run fast, jump high, and throw far. Be sure to
cheer, laugh, show sportsmanship and make new friends as
these things are truly what the NWT Track & Field
Championships are all about.
In closing, this event has gotten better and better with each
year and we believe that this year will be no exception.
