April 20th: Service Project: We will be cleaning up an area
of Monroe Twp from 9am-12pm. By doing this, we will raise
$500 for our Youth Group! Free T-Shirt and Prizes for all who

April 7th: Learn how to read and study the greatest, #1 selling
book of ALL TIME!.The Bible! Meeting from 7-9pm in
Marian Hall.

April 8th: Meeting part 1 of the Liturgy of the Hours, lead
by Anthony Infanti from 7-9pm in Marian Hall. Basketball
after in the gym from 9:30-11pm.
A night of learning to pray Morning and Evening prayers from
the Liturgy of the Hours. This prayer is considered the prayer
of the clergy, yet in the ordination rite a priest promises “to
pray the Liturgy of the Hours with and for the people of God.”
If possible, before attending please download on to your
Smart Phone the “iBreviary” app. (Tip: When downloading
the app select “no” for “confirm data loading.” The updated
version of the app will not load if you select yes).

A new Youth Group will be offered for children in
3rd-5th grade called "Jesus' Fish Guppies". They
will meet several times throughout the year for
different events. The first meeting will be held on
May 21st (chgd. from May 14th) from 6-7:30pm in
Assumption Hall. Parents are invited to stay. More

• Father Mazz will lead the retreat.
• There will be talks, reflection time, Adoration, Mass,
faith sharing and fun!

PUBLIC ROSARY
The next monthly public Rosary, in honor of the
Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, will be held
on Saturday, April 13 th , at 12 noon in front of St.
Mary’s Church.
CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS
The next Catholic Daughter’s meeting will be
held on Monday, April 15 th , at the Knights of
Columbus. The meeting begins promptly with
the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 p.m.

Family Corner

Easter does not just celebrate something that
happened to Jesus. Easter is a celebration of
what happens to us because of Jesus. Easter
celebrates how Jesus dies and rises in us here
and now, in this parish, in our families, in all our
joys and sorrows. Celebrate the joy of Easter!
STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
Stewards Doing Good
“He went about doing good and healing all those
oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” (Acts
10:38b)
As we celebrate the Resurrection of Our Lord, we
must realize that in rising from the dead, Jesus
declares to us that He is truly God and His way is the
real way. His commands are real. We cannot ignore
them any longer. We must throw off our chains of
greed, materialism and selfishness and rise to a new
level of Stewardship, giving and doing good, just as
Jesus called us to do.
MARY’S MEALS
With your help, it is our intent to adopt a school
again in Liberia to bring the love and
compassion of Jesus to the least of our brothers
and sisters. For just $32 annually, a child can be
fed in Liberia through the generosity of our
parish family: our Church, our School, and our
Religious Education program. Whatever your
contribution, more or less than $32, it will
change the lives of these children. Mary’s Meals
is an ongoing effort of Our Lady of Peace Parish
to feed and educate the less fortunate in this
country. Through Mary’s Meals we can bring
not only a meal and an education, but our love
and hope for a brighter future. Checks may be
made payable to Our Lady of Peace Parish.
Envelopes may be mailed or placed in the
collection basket.
NO PARKING
We are asking if you will please abstain from
parking across the street in the store’s parking
lot. The businesses are open on Saturday and
Sunday and when we fill their parking lot they
lose business. They are good neighbors to the
church and we would like to keep it that way.

SPIRITUAL ADOPTION
At 9 weeks, the fingerprints are already evident in
the skin. The fetus will curve its fingers around an
object placed in the palm of its hand. Let us give
thanks to Our Creator for all the beautiful gifts He
has given us, but most especially for giving us His
Gift of Life and all the while Holding Each and
Everyone of Us in the Palm of His Hand.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much.
Please help all women facing a difficult pregnancy
understand, accept, and be grateful for the Gift of
Life of their pre-born child. I beg you to spare the
life of the pre-born child that I have spiritually
adopted who is in danger of abortion. Amen.

The Filipino Ministry Celebrates
Year of Faith
“Believe, Unite and Share our Faith”
The year of Faith is a “summons to an authentic and
renewed conversion to the Lord, the One Savior of the
world.” In other words, the year of Faith is an
opportunity for Catholics to experience a conversion – to
turn back to Jesus and enter into deeper relationship with
him. The ‘door of faith’ is opened at one’s baptism, but
during this year Catholics are called to open it again,
walk through it and rediscover and renew their
relationship with Christ and his Church.
The Filipino Ministry aims to evangelize our local
community by proclaiming God’s presence and power in
today’s reality through active participation in the parish
life.
Building bridges among various constituents in
order to bring the gifts of the Filipino
Community to the growing multi-cultural face of
the parish.
Providing lay leadership formation/programs for
Filipinos to be more active in leadership roles in
the parish.
Promoting the rich Filipino heritage and values
through cultural-religious celebrations and other
activities.
Strengthened, nurtured and transformed by God’s life and
love, we respond to the call and challenges of our times to
become Christ’s disciples, building up God’s Kingdom here &

Divine Mercy Sunday
Requirements
To observe this feast we should commence a Novena to
the Divine Mercy on Good Friday, the novena includes
special intention for each day and is concluded with the
recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet. (Pamphlets will
be in the back on the table.)
Celebrate the feast on the first Sunday after
Easter.
Come to Jesus with a humble and contrite heart,
repent of all your sins.
Firmly trust in the divine Mercy of Jesus.
Go to confession (with a priest) on that day if
possible, otherwise seven days before.
OR after the feast as approved by the Church
Receive Holy Communion on the Day of the
Feast.
Venerate the image of Divine Mercy.
Be merciful as God is merciful. Practice works
of Mercy, physically by helping others or
spiritually by prayers of intercession.

“THE BEST OF BROADWAY”
Msgr. Louis A. Marucci, Executive Director, and
the Jubilate Deo Choral & Orchestra present their
Spring Concert, Sunday, April 28, 2013, 2:30
p.m., Paul VI High School Auditorium, Haddon
Twp., NJ. Enjoy excerpts from such Broadway hits
as The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Les
Miserable and Phantom of the Opera that will be
interwoven among unique narrations that reflect
some of the great truths of Christian life.
The sixty voice chorus and professional orchestra
will also perform Tributes to Richard Rodgers and
Irving Berlin. As a special feature, Broadway
performers, Stefano and Nina Tanchietti, will travel
from New York to join the Jubilate Deo Choral &
Orchestra for this unique program.
Tickets are only $15 and $25. All $30 seats are sold
out. Tickets are assigned according to the date

It is with sincere appreciation that I write you this
thank you on behalf of the Adopt A Shrine
Ministry. Once again as always the people of Our
Lady of Peace came through in a big way. As you
know we held our second annual Spaghetti Dinner
on March 10 th , with the hope of raising the
$1500.00 needed for the 50 yards of mulch needed
for the various flower beds and shrines around the
grounds of our parish and school.
Thanks to the donations of salad items, soda water,
sauce “gravy”, bread, pasta, etc.. and your support,
we raised about $1000.00 more then that. You may
not know that the Adopt A Shrine Ministry is self
funded, our members take care of their own areas
and donate the flowers and decorations for each of
the seasons. The Spaghetti Dinner is our only fund
raiser. Thanks to your support the cost of the mulch
won’t be such a burden on our members.

BABY BOTTLES
Our Lady of Peace Parish will be distributing Baby
Bottles for Good Council Homes on
April 7, 2013. Please take one baby bottle per
family after Mass.
Please return the Baby Bottle the following weekend,
April 14, 2013. Thank you for your generous
support in helping young mothers to keep their
babies.
