Weiser Celebrates Outstanding
Officers and Employees of 2012
Officer of the Year Jamie Howell accepts her award at the Year
End Celebration: presented by (right to left) President & CEO
Mickey Weiser, Jamie Howell, RVP Mike Burke, Branch Manager
Mike Strickland and Sr Vice President & COO Leonard
Kline
March 2013
Officer Jamie Howell, Security Officer of the Year
Officer Howell has worked for Weiser Security for over six years.
During that time she has received three Client Commendations
and four Employee of the Month awards.
In January our client opened a second facility and Officer Howell
was assigned to supervise both sites. In February she and her
team updated the vehicle identification system for 1900 employees.
They completed the task within three weeks. In March
she was approached by the client to explain parking and facility
access policies during the weekly New Employee Orientation
program. In April, the client’s HR department handed over responsibility
for the company’s disabled employee parking project
to Security. In June Security took over distributing employee
ID badges. In October the client hosted a family fun day event
attended by over 4000 people and included open access to the site. Visitors at the event turned to officers posted
throughout the facility for information about activities and directions.
Officer Howell leads her team by example. Keeping the Weiser Promise, her dependability and reliability are emulated
by her team members. We are proud to call her Officer of the Year.
Norma Alvarado, Regional Officer of the Year, Florida
Officer Alvarado was honored at the 2012 ASIS Awards for Security Officers of
Palm Beach County, FL.
She was standing at her post, checking ID’s at the pool entrance of a residential
community and noticed a man motionless in the deep end of the pool. She realized
he was in distress and pushed the emergency alert button to notify 911 and her
supervisor. She moved the resident into the shallow end of the pool using the pool
hook, entered the pool and kept his head above water until her supervisor arrived
to assist her in pulling him out of the pool. The resident was not breathing, so she
turned him on his side to expel water from his lungs and he began to breathe. She
comforted the resident’s wife and surrounding patrons. Emergency personnel arrived
to take over and the resident was later diagnosed with having a stroke.
For her heroic efforts Officer Alvarado was awarded the Lifesaving Award and the
“All Around Top Honor” of Outstanding Achievement by ASIS. Congratulations
Officer Alvarado!
Weiser Security is now on Facebook, Twitter and Linked in.
Every month each of the 23
branches choose an Officer of the
Month. Of those officers, each
branch then chooses one Officer of
the Year that best represented their
branch for the year. The Regional
Officer of the Year is then chosen
from the Branch Officer of the
Year winners. Support Center Executive
Team then selects one of
the four Regional Officers of the
Year as Officer of the Year. The
Officer of the Year attends the year
end celebration in New Orleans to
receive his/her award. All officers
that are employed more than six
months are eligible to be nominated.

Crystal Martin, Regional Officer of the Year, Central
Officer Martin is always willing to learn anything and take on any task no matter how big or small. Our
client purchased a new scanning system to scan cards for facility entry. She was asked to oversee training for
officers and created books to explain in detail how to use the system. She never asked any officers to come
in on their day off to train, she went to them on their shift and gave them each one on one training. She made
herself available 24/7 by phone for questions or problems and if she couldn’t help by phone, she went to the
site, no matter the time.
Officer Martin is a true asset to Weiser Security.
