Southwest Interdisciplinary Research Center (SIRC), Arizona State University, funded
by the National Institutes of Health (August 2008-July 2010). Served as a predoctoral
research fellow at a research center focused on health disparities and
community outreach targeting drug abuse, mental health and HIV/AIDS. Conducted
data analysis and report writing; implemented and helped develop the Families in
Action Curriculum, a school-based parent intervention to enhance parent-child
communication; developed a Latin American adaptation of the Keepin’ it REAL
Curriculum, a nationally-recognized school-based drug prevention program.

a piano accompanist during two theater productions, including rehearsals and live

volunteer to design a student exchange program sponsored by La Sierra University in
California, and Universidad Linda Vista in Chiapas, Mexico, to foster students’ crosscultural
