<strong>CONNECTICUT</strong> <strong>ABUSIVE</strong> <strong>LENDING</strong> <strong>PRACTICES</strong> ACT<br />

Join us for our Annual Meeting, where we will hear regulatory updates from Fillis Stober <strong>and</strong><br />
will hold the ele<strong>ct</strong>ion of the 2006 Board of Governors.<br />
Jeffrey Hubbell <strong>and</strong> Anne Cappelli, of the Conne<strong>ct</strong>icut Department of Banking, will review the<br />
requirements of Truth in Lending (Regulation Z), including pra<strong>ct</strong>ical, h<strong>and</strong>s-on calculation<br />
examples <strong>and</strong> disclosure requirements, including HOEPA (Se<strong>ct</strong>ion 32, high-cost/high-fee rules).<br />
What are the rescission rules? What do you need to include in your loan ads? How should the<br />
HELOC <strong>and</strong> other ARM Program Disclosures be updated? How should corre<strong>ct</strong>ions <strong>and</strong><br />
restitution be h<strong>and</strong>led?<br />
In addition, Jeff <strong>and</strong> Anne will discuss Conne<strong>ct</strong>icut’s Abusive Lending Pra<strong>ct</strong>ices A<strong>ct</strong> <strong>and</strong> help us<br />
determine how to calculate whether or not that law applies to a loan, including first mortgages<br />
<strong>and</strong> refinances. What are your procedures to be sure this does not apply to you? (Refer to<br />
C.G.S. §36a-746 for the law.)<br />

Cancellation Policy: If the program is canceled, it will be canceled one day prior to the program <strong>and</strong> registered attendees will be notified. A new<br />
flyer will be sent to all members announcing the rescheduled program. At the discretion of the BCAC, a refund will be made or credit will be<br />
given for a future program.<br />
