Kelley earned first team All-Ivy honors<br />

last spring. She led the Bulldogs in stolen<br />

bases with 21 and was second in runs scored (27) and third in<br />

batting average (.288) and hits (42) in addition to playing an<br />

outstanding defensive shortstop. In her last 20 games, she batted<br />

.435 (27-for-62) with 12 runs scored and eight RBI. She<br />

also had the first four-hit game of her career against Army and<br />

had nine multi-hit games. As a sophomore Kelley started all 45<br />

games, led the team in stolen bases with 14 and was fifth in<br />

batting (.248). Her top performance of the season was against<br />

Rider when she went 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and<br />

a stolen base. As a freshman, she was third on the team in stolen<br />

bases with eight. She earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week<br />

honors once and was named to the New Haven City Series alltournament<br />

team. At Frontier Regional High School Kelley was<br />

part of a team that went 77-9, twice reached the state finals and<br />

won four league championships. She was a four-time first-team<br />

All-Western Massachusetts selection and a three-time recipient<br />

of the Frontier Regional Best Defensive Player award. As a<br />

senior, Kelley was named the 2000 Western Massachusetts Player<br />

of the Year. She <strong>is</strong> the daughter of Ernest and Hsiu-Li Kelley.<br />

Shiota appeared in 22 games last year<br />

before illness ended her season. She<br />

belted her first career home run against Sacred Heart and had<br />

two multiple RBI games. As a sophomore Shiota played in 23<br />

games after m<strong>is</strong>sing most of her freshman year due to injury. At<br />

Woodbridge High School, Shiota was part of a team that won<br />

three straight league championships and captured the 1997 state<br />

tournament. As a senior Shiota was named Best Defensive<br />

Player and earned honorable mention all-league recognition. She<br />

<strong>is</strong> the daughter of Robert and Jean Shiota.<br />

Kwiatkowski has earned second team<br />

All-Ivy recognition in each of her first<br />

two years. Last spring she started 46 games behind the plate,<br />

threw out 15 runners trying to steal and tied for the team lead in<br />

home runs with three. The highlight of her season came when<br />

she belted a game-winning, two-run home run in the bottom of<br />

the seventh inning against St. John’s. As a freshman, she was<br />

fourth on the team in RBI (12) and fifth in hits (31). In addition,<br />

she was the only freshman to start in all 45 games. In the second<br />

game of a doubleheader against Pennsylvania she went 3-for-4<br />

with a triple, two runs scored, and five RBI. She also had two<br />

other three-hit games. Kwiatkowski was a two-time all-state selection<br />

at Manalapan High School. In 2001, she earned both<br />

Player of the Year and Outstanding Athlete honors. She led her<br />

team to the Shore Conference League Championship. At <strong>Yale</strong>,<br />

Kwiatkowski resides in Ezra Stiles College. She <strong>is</strong> the daughter<br />

of Mark and Karen Kwiatkowski.<br />
