Since fundamental principles of Physics form the very basis of Engineering and
Technology, the department, therefore, aims at providing the necessary knowledge of
Physics h to the h young engineers.
The students of B. Tech are given compulsory courses in Physics in first and second
semester. while a number of courses are offered as Non Departmental Electives in the
7th & 8th semesters as well.
The programmes p g are shared byy other departments p viz, , Electrical Engg., gg , Mechanical
Engg., Electronics and Communication Engg. and Computer Engg. The inputs in
Instrumentation stream are the candidates having the degree of M.Sc. (Physics) with
two electronics papers, M.Sc. (Electronics), B Tech. (Electronics), B Tech.
(Instrumentation), B Tech. (Electrical) while in Nanotechnology stream the
candidates have M.Sc, (Physics), M.Sc. (Bio‐science), B Tech. (Bio‐Instrumentation)
and all other B Tech./BE degrees.
