Cargo Inspectors Group S.r.l., formed in 1990 by a group of professionals with long time experience
in the survey business, was born from a transformation of the original Cargo Inspections Genoa
S.r.l. founded in 1976.
Cargo Inspectors Group (C.I.G.)’s co-ordinating offices are conveniently located near the Port of
Genoa where it has centred the development of all activities and the Management of the Company.
C.I.G. originally began operating in the field of petroleum and petrochemical cargoes controls and
has now emerged on the main commodities market with an innovative and dynamic services
capacity focused on areas requiring a high level of professionalism, specialisation and resources.
C.I.G. has expanded its presence especially in the fields of coal/pet-coke, minerals, agricultural
products, garbage management plan, technical damage surveys, drug testing, and others.
C.I.G.’s professional activity, conducted in compliance with international standards and supported
by evolving operative concepts of data control, has achieved the acknowledgement of
manufacturers, suppliers, traders, buyers and ship-owners world-wide, resulting in an everincreasing
qualified Italian and International Client portfolio.
Presently C.I.G. operates on the global market for ship, road, tank track, rail car and container
transport in collaboration with other Italian and foreign Associates, guaranteeing recognised results
of professional efficiency and consistent technological development.
In order to consolidate the professional expertise acquired in its area of activity, C.I.G. applied for
the certification of its Quality System as per the UNI EN ISO 9002 Standard, which was obtained
successfully in 1995, has been duly maintained and (thanks to the company’s excellent
performance) is undergoing expansion. Today C.I.G. has achieved the UNI EN ISO 9001:2008
certification.
With its range of resources, qualified personnel and professional standards, C.I.G. continues to
enhance its endeavour to satisfy the diversified requests of its present and potential Clients

SERVICES
Inspection and quality-quantity control of petroleum, petrochemical and chemical products, whether liquid
or gas
Loading/discharge Ship/shore quantity control of liquid/gas cargoes, sampling, analysis witnessing or analysis
performing by qualified lab, bunkers quantity/quality control, including “Bunker supply” ops. and delivery/redelivery
ops., quantity/quality control of LPG and LNG cargoes, etc.
Inspection and quality-quantity control of solid fuels in bulk as coal, coke, petcoke, etc.
Quantity controls by Draft Survey or by shore-weighing systems as weight bridge and conveyor-belt controls,
sampling ops. as per international standards, samples preparation, sizing determinations, moisture and
chemical analysis by qualified lab, etc.
Inspection and quality-quantity control of steel products as steel coils, plates, billets, bars, steel scraps,
etc.
Ship/shore quantity controls, pre-shipment survey, loading/discharge supervision, loss/damages control, etc.
Inspection and quality-quantity control of agricultural products, including anti bacteria disinfection
treatment
Quantity controls by Draft Survey or by shore-weighing systems as scale, weight bridge or conveyor-belt
controls, sampling ops. as per international standards, analysis, etc.
Anti bacteria disinfection treatment by means of application of biocides in vessel’s holds and shore terminals /
warehouses.
Inspection and quality-quantity control of fertilizers
Hatch/holds conditions checking, quantity controls by Draft Survey or by shore-weighing systems, sampling,
analysis, etc.
Container fumigation
Thanks to it’s partnership with Italian and international Companies specialized in this field C.I.G. provides a
wide range of services, including container and cargo fumigation.
Pre-vetting, vetting, safety/security consultancy and Re–Delivery operations.
By using specialized personnel C.I.G. can offer the vessel condition survey including the safety condition
controls and Re-Delivery operations (ON – OFF Hire Surveys) .
Services in drug and alcohol testing.
C.I.G. offers it’s services in the substance abuse program through collection and analysis of specimen of
organic liquid as representative of Medscreen.
Technical and average surveys for the transport of all type of goods (bulk and manufactured goods,
machinery, etc.)
Damages surveys and rectification, pressing, tagging and labelling controls, pre-shipment surveys, etc

Solid and liquid waste disposal
As per agreements with authorized Companies, C.I.G. can offer a full service for the discharge and disposal of
hazardous wastes , including the final documents.
Environment.
C.I.G. provides its know how to companies and public administrations through waste quality control, audits
garbage collection monitoring and chemical –physical analyses.
ACCREDITATED LABORATORIES
C.I.G. analyses the products subject to control and delivers the analysis results as soon as possible
thanks to ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories.
The results are thoroughly evaluated with the great experience of our staff.
