The Saga of the Kiwanis 4th of July
It started bright and early Wednesday Morning as the
Club went dark to be present at the Fireworks Stand to
unload the TNT trailer full of fireworks. Just after they
were unloaded the stand opened and some of the caravan
unloading the fireworks, went to work selling them.
The fireworks selling continued through the 4th.
On July one a number of Kiwanians and their
spouses showed up at Dr. JERRY ROODZANT to perform
the mystical act of marinating the tri-tips. It wasn’t
all work as Jerry and Janice in their most hospitable
way insured that no one went hungry or dehydrated.
The Tri-tip sales started at around 2:00PM on the
Third as the La Mirada Crowd assembled to partake of
the food available from some sixteen vendors. The senior
members of the Club, in general were there to offer
corrective advice to those whose legs and body could
withstand the labor intensive act of bringing the tri-tips
to the table. While the Club was Tri-Tipping through
the tulips, Pastor Jack assembled his church members
and filled in at the fireworks stand.
