<strong>La</strong> <strong>Mirada</strong> <strong>Kiwanis</strong> Club,<br />
<strong>La</strong> <strong>Mirada</strong>, CA<br />
<strong>The</strong> <strong>Saga</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Kiwanis</strong> <strong>4th</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>July</strong><br />
It started bright and early Wednesday Morning as <strong>the</strong><br />
Club went dark to be present at <strong>the</strong> Fireworks Stand to<br />
unload <strong>the</strong> TNT trailer full <strong>of</strong> fireworks. Just after <strong>the</strong>y<br />
were unloaded <strong>the</strong> stand opened and some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> caravan<br />
unloading <strong>the</strong> fireworks, went to work selling <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
<strong>The</strong> fireworks selling continued through <strong>the</strong> <strong>4th</strong>.<br />
On <strong>July</strong> one a number <strong>of</strong> Kiwanians and <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
spouses showed up at Dr. JERRY ROODZANT to perform<br />
<strong>the</strong> mystical act <strong>of</strong> marinating <strong>the</strong> tri-tips. It wasn’t<br />
all work as Jerry and Janice in <strong>the</strong>ir most hospitable<br />
way insured that no one went hungry or dehydrated.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Tri-tip sales started at around 2:00PM on <strong>the</strong><br />
Third as <strong>the</strong> <strong>La</strong> <strong>Mirada</strong> Crowd assembled to partake <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> food available from some sixteen vendors. <strong>The</strong> senior<br />
members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Club, in general were <strong>the</strong>re to <strong>of</strong>fer<br />
corrective advice to those whose legs and body could<br />
withstand <strong>the</strong> labor intensive act <strong>of</strong> bringing <strong>the</strong> tri-tips<br />
to <strong>the</strong> table. While <strong>the</strong> Club was Tri-Tipping through<br />
<strong>the</strong> tulips, Pastor Jack assembled his church members<br />
and filled in at <strong>the</strong> fireworks stand.<br />
