produces equipment for grain mills <strong>and</strong> elevators. The result of all this<br />

effort has been to increase Uzbek-Siberian trade turnover to $ 2 billion. 35<br />

These <strong>and</strong> other projects are being carried out in accordance with WTO<br />

requirements. These include liberalizing custom procedures, unifying<br />

indirect custom rules, etc. One more constructive change has been the<br />

mutual adaptation of improved custom codes by <strong>Russia</strong>, Kazakhstan, <strong>and</strong><br />

Ukraine. The <strong>Russia</strong>n code reduces custom procedures to a maximum of<br />

three days, <strong>and</strong> establishes trans-shipping points on transit states for<br />

onward deliveries to third countries.<br />
