Explorers discover a clue to mankind’s<br />
origins, sending them on a journey to the<br />
far corners of the universe.<br />
Sounds like director Ridley Scott’s<br />
Prometheus could have been a remake of<br />
Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.<br />
Or, as it was originally conceived, it could<br />
have been a prequel to Scott’s own Alien<br />
franchise. Instead (and we think it was the<br />
right decision) Scott decided to let this<br />
3D thriller stand on its own. and he cast<br />
some pretty interesting actors to help it<br />
do so — Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron,<br />
Guy Pearce and Michael Fassbender as an<br />
android, evoking not just the Alien pics, but<br />
our other ridley Scott fave, Blade Runner.<br />
