To support osteointegration, the Metha Stem<br />
carries a circumferential Pl<strong>as</strong>mapore ®<br />
μ-CaP coating. Through a special process,<br />
a thin 20 μm layer of very pure calcium<br />
phosphate, μ-CaP, is applied on the proven<br />
micro-porous titanium Pl<strong>as</strong>mapore ® surface.<br />
This additional layer h<strong>as</strong> an osteoconductive<br />
effect and accelerates contact between the<br />
bone and the prosthesis stem.<br />

The non-cemented stem is fixated by<br />
metaphyseal anchoring within the closed<br />
ring of the femoral neck. The greater 1<br />
trochanter region remains<br />
completely un<strong>to</strong>uched. Bone and muscle<br />
structures are preserved – a particular<br />
bonus for young and active patients<br />
with good bone structure. The conical<br />
shape supports primary stability and 2<br />
proximal force transfer. The high primary<br />
stability is further enhanced by the<br />
rounded tip of the stem guided along<br />
the dorso-lateral cortex. 3<br />
