AOC GRAVES<br />

Château Grand Abord is located in Portets near Bordeaux, on the left bank of the<br />

Garonne River, through the Graves Appellation area.<br />

The name of Grand Abord is very old, the Garonne River flew close to this property, and<br />

boats used to do a “Grand Abordage” great berthing.<br />

The Vineyard, created in 1720 belongs to the family since 6 generations. It surface is<br />

about 26 ha.<br />

GRAPES VARIETIES Merlot 80% et Cabernet sauvignon 20%<br />

AGE OF THE VINEYARD Average 35 years old<br />

PLANTATION DENSITY 5.600 plants/hectare.<br />

SOIL Gravels and limestone<br />

YIELD In July, « green harvesting » to limit the<br />

yield around 50 hectolitres/ha.<br />

HARVESTING Machine<br />

VINIFICATION Maceration before fermentation at low<br />

temperature for 7 days, fermentation in stainless steel and concrete<br />

vats for 20 days . Maceration post‐fermentation for 4 to 7 days.<br />

AGEING French oak barrels for 12 months<br />

PRODUCTION 30.000 bottles according to the vintage.<br />

PACKAGING Bottle of 750 ml ; card box 6 or 12<br />

bottles, Wood case for 6 or 12 bottles.<br />

TASTING Attractive nose . Easygoing wine. Elegant<br />

on the palate. Slightly ground pepper finish. To be served with all meats<br />

or chicken and all cheeses.<br />
