For authors of abstracts from Pacifi c Rim countries the same<br />
criteria apply but the abstract must now be sponsored by a<br />
member of their National Radiation Research Society or a RRS<br />
member and indicate in the ‘Sponsor’ box on submission.<br />
Be sure to indicate the name of the person who is to present the<br />
paper — it will be underlined in the printed program book. The<br />
name of each non-member will be followed by an asterisk (*)<br />
in the program book.<br />
Abstract Content and Format<br />
All presentations must be scientifi c in nature and without inclusion<br />
of commercial messages or inappropriate references to specifi c<br />
products, services, or commercial concerns.<br />
The title should be in lower case letters with only the fi rst word<br />
capitalized. EXAMPLE: Temperature dependence of ionizing<br />
radiation effect on dry preparations of bacterial enzymes.<br />
The body of the abstract should be single-spaced. Tables, graphs,<br />
and structural <strong>for</strong>mulae may not be included, although simple<br />
mathematical <strong>for</strong>mulae are acceptable.<br />
Abstract Categories<br />
As much as possible, abstracts will be placed within the following<br />
categories.<br />

• Physico-chemical events<br />
• Mutagenesis/clastogenesis/carcinogenesis<br />
• Cell and tissue kinetics/signaling/microenvironment<br />
• Bystander effects/adaptive responses<br />
• DNA damage induction, repair and the DNA damage response<br />
• Radiation protection – biodosimetry<br />
• Radiation protection - protectors/mitigators/treatment<br />
• High LET/space radiation effects/dose rate effects<br />
• Stem cells<br />
• Experimental therapeutics and translational research<br />
• Epidemiology<br />
Presentation<br />
Poster dimensions are limited to 4’ x 4’. Each poster should include<br />
a heading with title and author(s) using lettering at least 25 mm<br />
(1”) high. The abstract should be part of the poster presentation.<br />
The legible print should be viewable from 1 meter away. There<strong>for</strong>e,<br />
lettering should be heavy and at least 10 mm (3/8”) high.
