For authors of abstracts from Pacifi c Rim countries the same
criteria apply but the abstract must now be sponsored by a
member of their National Radiation Research Society or a RRS
member and indicate in the ‘Sponsor’ box on submission.
Be sure to indicate the name of the person who is to present the
paper — it will be underlined in the printed program book. The
name of each non-member will be followed by an asterisk (*)
in the program book.
Abstract Content and Format
All presentations must be scientifi c in nature and without inclusion
of commercial messages or inappropriate references to specifi c
products, services, or commercial concerns.
The title should be in lower case letters with only the fi rst word
capitalized. EXAMPLE: Temperature dependence of ionizing
radiation effect on dry preparations of bacterial enzymes.
The body of the abstract should be single-spaced. Tables, graphs,
and structural formulae may not be included, although simple
mathematical formulae are acceptable.

As much as possible, abstracts will be placed within the following
categories.

• Mutagenesis/clastogenesis/carcinogenesis
• Cell and tissue kinetics/signaling/microenvironment
• Bystander effects/adaptive responses
• DNA damage induction, repair and the DNA damage response
• Radiation protection – biodosimetry
• Radiation protection - protectors/mitigators/treatment
• High LET/space radiation effects/dose rate effects
• Stem cells
• Experimental therapeutics and translational research
• Epidemiology
Presentation
Poster dimensions are limited to 4’ x 4’. Each poster should include
a heading with title and author(s) using lettering at least 25 mm
(1”) high. The abstract should be part of the poster presentation.
The legible print should be viewable from 1 meter away. Therefore,
lettering should be heavy and at least 10 mm (3/8”) high.
