lobbying the San Jose City Council for a landmark designation were successful and on<br />
January 22, 2002, 99 Notre Dame, San Jose, CA was form<strong>al</strong>ly approved as a City<br />
Landmark.<br />
The building includes large panel displays on the w<strong>al</strong>ls of the lobby waiting room<br />
describing the early history of the RAMAC. The ASME (American Association of<br />
Mechanic<strong>al</strong> Engineers) Internation<strong>al</strong> Landmark plaque and the IEEE (Institute of<br />
Electric<strong>al</strong> and Electronic Engineers) Milestone plaque, both recognizing the historic<strong>al</strong><br />
significance of the RAMAC, are located on the outside of the building. A speci<strong>al</strong> event in<br />
recognition of the 50 th anniversary of the birthplace of the RAMAC at 99 Notre Dame<br />
was held in 2002 at the site.<br />
Note: At the present time the status quo remains since construction on the new<br />
Courthouse has yet to begin.<br />
