More than one million people live in Harris
County Precinct 3. It is one of the more vibrant
and exciting places to live in the region. Our
county remains the third-most populous in the
nation and the quality of life in Precinct 3 has
been a vital part of maintaining and sustaining
that incredible growth. As your Precinct 3
commissioner, I’m proud to serve you in both
the transportation arena and in the continued
development of parks and community
programs that provide activities for children,
adults and seniors.
2010 population estimate: 1,057,042
Precinct limits: 452 square miles
Demographics:
• White: 40 percent • Black: 15 percent
• Hispanic: 34 percent • Other: 11 percent
We are very proud of our thriving community
nestled in the northwest quadrant of Houston.
From 2000 to 2010, the population has
increased more than 50 percent to nearly
750,000 people. To put that in perspective, if
the Cy-Fair area were a city, it would be in the
top 20 largest cities in the United States.
The median age of the citizens in the Cy-Fair
area is 33 years, giving our community an
energetic, youthful and family-friendly feel.
It is not hard to fi gure out why so many
businesses and families have chosen to call
Cy-Fair home. This is a prosperous community that provides an
outstanding quality of life. The Cy-Fair area is one of the fastest
growing communities in Northwest Houston and we look forward to a
continued partnership with the community and area businesses.
Harris County Precinct 4 continues to thrive
as one of the most desirable locations for
families and businesses. With more than one
million residents, our unique combination
of outstanding parks includes the expanding
Spring Creek Greenway, which connects parks
and preserves nature along Spring Creek, and
two brand new dog parks. We continue to
build f or our future in Precinct 4 by managing
the growth of our transportation system and
protecting the quality of life we know our
neighbors expect.
Almost 20 years ago, when my young family
was looking for a home in the suburbs of
Houston, we found that few communities
offered the amenities of Jersey Village.
Jersey Village has outstanding city services
including its own police and fi re departments,
well-managed water services, a great
golf course and beautiful parks. The city
government is close and personal so all citizens
feel they have a voice in city issues and could
serve as an appointed or elected offi cial.
