Jean-Marie Trocellier naquit a Tuzet au diocese<br />
de Mende .le 5 novembre 1888.<br />
11 fut ordonne pretre le 26 mai 1920.<br />
Le jeune Pere Trocellier arrivait au Mackenzie<br />
en 1921 . et fit ses debuts Missionnaires a la Mission<br />
de Fort Good-Hope.<br />
11 <strong>mission</strong>na ensuite a Fort des Liards de 1922 a<br />
1925.<br />
Fondateur de la Mission d'Aklavik en cette meme<br />
annee, il <strong>mission</strong>na dans Ia suite a Coppermine et sur<br />
la cote Arctique.<br />
Le Pere Trocellier etait Superieur a la Mission<br />
d'Aklavik lorsqu'il fut appele· a l'Episcopat en 1940.<br />
Sacre Eveque le 8 septembre, il succeda a Son Excellence<br />
Monseigneur G. Breynat en 1943.<br />
Le venerable Vicaire Apostolique est decede a<br />
Montreal le 27 septembre apres dix jours de maladie.<br />
Ses restes ont ete transportes a Fort Smith et seront<br />
deposes dans la crypte de la nouvelle cathedrale en<br />
consb·uction.<br />

Was born in the Diocese of Gravelbourg on September 14, 1909.<br />
He made his Theological Studies at Lebret and was ordained<br />
priest on D ecemb er 23, 1934. Pmfessor at Lebret from 1936 to<br />
1941 and thence Superior of the Oblate Juniorate at St. Boniface,<br />
for two years, h e became Principal of the Qu'Appelle Indian<br />
School in 1943. Provincial of the Oblate Province of Manitoba<br />
from 1951 to 19.5'-6. Superintendent of the Oblate Com<strong>mission</strong> for<br />
Indians and Eskimos W elfare until his appointed as Vicar<br />
Apostolic of Mackenzie, in March 1959.<br />
His Excellency is the 3rd Vicar Apostolic of Mackenzie.
