Pair of American Portrait Miniatures
The matched pair of engraved profile images of
male and female inset in 9k rose gold oval frames,
the reverse of male miniature, inset with a bone
flourishing plaque, inscribed “RBN”; each profile in cursive
script printed “Ch. Memin, no. 27 Pine St. New
York”; together with a handcolored print of an European
map in a gold-filled frame.

Whimsically carved as a stylized squatting figure of a
rotund man, his head turned to side, bearing his
teeth, inlaid with bulging glass eyes, the articulated
lid opening from the jacket above his exposed bottom
centering a hole.
