Caren is constantly looking for ways to collaborate with employers, faculty, and staff to provide students with the best career enrichment experiences. With 13 years of experience in program development and 4 years at Clemson University, Caren strives to be a change agent and transformational leader in the field of higher education. Why do you think it is important for students to complete internships or coop experiences? “Internship and Co-op experiences allow students to get an inside glimpse of a particular occupation. These experiential education opportunities simply nurture budding professionals.” Dr. Caren Kelley-Hall Associate Director University Professional Internship Program Career she wanted as a child: “I wanted to be an actress. The Hollywood glamour was very alluring!” Favorite thing to do on a Saturday: “Travel” ADVICE Fall 2012 “Study abroad, obtain many internships, and keep your foreign language skills in the forefront.” Most rewarding part of her job: “I feel a sense of accomplishment after I have provided students with the tools they need to successfully land an internship and career of their choice. I keep every email and thank you card from students who have transitioned into graduate school, new job, and internship. These are constant reminders of my direct impact on Clemson University students.” 3
