ETC Workshop
Held in Alhambra
The County’s annual Employee
Transportation Coordinator
(ETC) workshop, conducted by
Metro officials, was held recently at the
Department of Public Works in Alhambra.
Donna Blanchard and Mary Ann
Garcia of Metro led the two-hour
workshop, which is held to review
policies and procedures for the
Employee Commute Reduction Program
(Rideshare) survey.
The ECRP is mandated by the South
Coast Air Quality Management District’s
Rule 2202 and is designed to encourage
employees to reduce solo commutes to
work by using public transportation or
Ridesharing. Survey results are used
to calculate a site’s Average Vehicle
Ridership.
More than 25 ETCs from among the
County’s 75 regulated sites attended
the morning presentation, which
focused on conducting a thorough and
comprehensive employee Rideshare
survey.
Special Video
A highlight of the kickoff was a brief
of the Brotherhood Crusade. The video
for underprivileged young boys, many of
whom do not have a father in the home.
“A top priority of our work is to make
sure that these young men have a
strong male figure in their life,” said Ms.
Bremond-Weaver, who told the audience
that she decided to show the video
instead of presenting a speech. “I wanted
you to hear the young men speak and
see how they benefitted from the camp
experience,” she said.
Also speaking at the kickoff were
FDA Process
The FDAs use the employee
contributions to support grassroots, nonprofit
organizations providing health and
human services to children and families in
need across the County. Payroll deduction
is the principle vehicle by which donations
are made. One-time fundraisers, such as
bake sales and opportunity drawings, also
raise funds for the CGC.
Employees, using the FDA
process, also have the option of “direct
designating” their contribution to the
non-profit group of their choice. For
more information on “direct designation,”
including “L.A. County Employee Days
and Entertainment Books, which offer
