Family Camp
At the Chinmaya Family Camp hosted by CM D/FW, you will
find a place for your family to meet other Chinmaya families.
A family camp is designed to develop and strengthen our faith
and spiritual values in multiple ways. One, by bringing families
together in a setting in which kids see their parents involved and
having fun. Second, is by being with peers who share spiritual
values. A third is by seeing other families who value their faith
and have integrated it into the family’s life.
Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayanandji will expound on one of the
Vedantic gems of Hindu scripture, the Kaivalya Upanishad; and
chapter XVII of the Bhagavad Gita. He will help us understand
what it takes to go beyond our day-to-day life to be truly happy.
By identifying our strengths and weaknesses, we can make the
right choices and express joyfully.
Kaivalya Upanishad
Upanishads are the philosophical portion of Vedas. It’s poetic
diction, systematic development of thought and scientific
in arrangement of highly philosophical ideas make Kaivalya
Upanishad one of the most striking minor Upanishads. In this
Asvalayana, the great teacher of Rg Veda is a disciple and Lord
Brahma, the Creator himself is the teacher, which makes this
as the most valuable amongst the minor Upanishads.
Bhagavad Gita Chapter XVII
(Yoga of Threefold Faith)
The sattvic, rajasic and tamasic gunas (qualities) dictate our moods
and choices. Our mental mood propels our actions – be it in the choices
of our food, yagna (service), tapas (austerity) or dana (charity).
Each one of these can be further dissected at the body, mind and
intellect (BMI) level so that we understand the subtle manners in
which the gunas interact and influence
our choices.
We can easily avoid confusion, mental
fatigue, and anxiety that result from
being swept by the influence of the
gunas.
Are we ready to take up the challenge of
invoking our dynamic inner personality
by eliminating the tamasic and
rajasic gunas? Find out how faith can
miraculously transform routine rituals
to spiritual actions and reveal the sattvic gunas within each one of
us.
