Explanations:<br />
S. mount: Scope mount. Mkb42 and the first 43/1 had a scope mount integral on the rear sight.<br />
A few <strong>MP43</strong>/1 and <strong>MP43</strong> had a scope rail spot-welded to the right side of the receiver.<br />
Muz. nut: All except the last produced had a muzzle nut. The 43/1 muzzle nut is bigger<br />
as on the other types: The threaded muzzle was for use of a silencer.<br />
C. blued: Completely blued. The first had a blue finish on all parts, later some parts wren't blued -<br />
that depended on what the subcontractors delivered. The last weren't blued at all. Instead a cellulose<br />
spray was used. In beginning grey - later transparent as on wood.<br />
Description: The <strong>MP43</strong>, <strong>MP44</strong> and <strong>StG44</strong> are fundamentally the same. The <strong>MP43</strong>/1 is different.It<br />
has a thicker barrel, another barrel nut and front sight base. The early <strong>MP43</strong>/1 had a scope mount.<br />
Names: The <strong>MP43</strong> was officially renamed April 25, 1944 to <strong>MP44</strong>. Oct. 22, 1944 the <strong>MP44</strong> was<br />
renamed to <strong>StG44</strong>. The new names weren't effective until much later. The <strong>MP43</strong> was for example<br />
produced until the war ended.<br />
<strong>MKb42</strong>(H)<br />
Production began in 1942 and ended in Sept. 43. 10,700? were produced.<br />
<strong>MP43</strong>/1<br />
Production began in July, 43 and ended in the very first months of 1944. 24,300 produced ?<br />
