GENERAL "IKE" knows better than anybody else how many of .his wounded G.
I. Joes are saved from death by life-savin- g Red Cross Blood Plasma 1
He knows how a young soldier worries when there's no news from loved ones
or bad news and how his spirits rise when a special Red Cross Home Srevice message
says everything's O. K. at home I
General "Ike" knows the way a bombing crew, back safe from a perilous mis
sion, go for the coffee and doughnuts the Red Cross girls serve! He knows how the
Red 'Cross is always on the job at the front day and' night to, make G. I. Joe'i
life a little more like the life he left back home in the U. S. A.
And this is what General "Ike" jays about the Red Cross:
"We simply couldn't get along without it I consider the Red Cross an auxiliary
of my army. They are doing a perfectly magnificent
way.
ASK G. I. JOE
Job in every
He'll tell you what the Red Cross does for him and how! Listen to this boy's letter
to his dad:
"Pop, whenever the Red Cross comes to you for money, give what you can spare,
as they are wonderful to us."
"Dad if you help anything or anybody, please give to the Red Cross because they
help us. Plenty! If it wasn't for them, I don't know what our overseas soldiers
would do. So Dad, do as I say. Help the Red Cross just for me!"
ASK YOURSELF
Ask yourself t "Have I done as much as I can for my Red Cross which is at my
boy's side ready to aid, comfort and cheer him?"
You can'tr do too much to help the devoted workers in this great Army of Mercy
who risk their lives over and over again to bring our millions of G. I. Joes the
proof that they are not forgdtten by their home folks.
The Red Cross is doing your job doing for your boy what you can't 'do. But
you can help by giving more to the Red Cross now. It's job is stupendous
growing bigger.
.
and it'i
Give as much more as you can today!
wish him luck at whatever he
attempts.
CHAINS ENCOURAGE
PRODUCER EFFICIENCY
Chain store critics occasionally
claim the buying methods of
the chains to force down pri
ces paid producers, especially in
the field. It hard to reconcile
this claim with the report
a leading chain store publlca-to- n
to effect food chains
want farmers ot organize producer
cooperatives. The chains, it
added, believe in commissions,
better facilities for icing and cool
better packaging, and a me
dium for "educational
programs to growers In the ever
advancing field of conditioning
and handling of vegetables for
market."
The docs of
these things. It also gives the
an effective bargaining agent
for the sale of his produce,
him a price. If the
chains generally were not the
habit of paying fair prices to
producers, they could hardly be
expected to the pro
ducer co-o- p.
of the Corner drug store.
Proper heating requires that appliances vented to a flue. The
appliances, illustrated above are types that are vented. For this reason
your gas company recommends them, for only with heaters that
are vented a flue can you enjoy natural gas heat at its best. Only
when appliances are vented are wall sweating and stuffy eliminated.
Plan healthful, modern heat vented heat for your
postwar home. Make there will be enough flues.
