30
I designed three of the courses listed above: research design, ethics and philosophy of public relations,
and public relations programs. The seminar in philosophy and ethics is the only one of its kind in the United
States. I also developed the syllabi for the first courses in qualitative methodology taught in the Department of
Communication: introductory and advanced qualitative methods.
I re-designed the other courses I teach as a result of my immersion in the campus’ Transformation of the
Curriculum Project. That is, I have revised my syllabi, assignments, and exams (both in form and in content)
in light of the growing female majority in public relations classes and in appreciation of the diversity of
racioethnic backgrounds of the students.
