FESTIVALS
One of the main obstacles for any artist
to overcome is the simple matter
of where to showcase his or her work.
While Dubai is home to an endless
pool of creative types, many can
often struggle to have their work or
talent seen by others. It is with this in
mind that the social media community
of Dubai and the Northern
Emirates has pulled together
to create the fi rst urban
festival, TwingeDXB, a
platform for talented artists
and performers in the
community to be seen and
heard.
Running from December
10-16, the festival has been created
by the arts community, for the
arts community, and will showcase a
different fi eld each day, from poetry
and literature, to music and drama,
Abaza said, “We have a
lot of talent here and
some of them just don’t
have the resources to
showcase their talent.
We also know that there
are people in this community
that are not aware
of what is available locally
and that they do not necessarily need
to head internationally when it’s right
here on the doorstep. All of the work
we will share will be original material.”
