or a bodybuilder. The energy metabolism has to be adapted to the body‘s work. That is why you should resort to nutritional supplements to meet these

What are Carbohydrates? 

Carbohydrates are the most important energy sources of the body. One 

gram of carbohydrates supplies the body with the energy of 4 Kcal. At 

least 50% of the body‘s energy requirements should be covered by 

carbs. Complex carbohydrates in the form of starchy and high-fibre 

food like cereal-, wholemeal products, vegetables, fruits, legumes and 

potatetoes are the highest valued carbohydrate sources. 

You should take care that your carbohydrate storage is filled before your 

workout. this can be achieved by taking carbs in combination with proteins 

3-4 hours before the workout. In this way the musculature is getting tired 

less fast whereby a more intensive workout is possible. Furthermore the 

carbohydrates prevent a too strong burning of the proteins and so you 

can store more proteins in muscles after the workout. 

If you feel tired before or during the workout carbihydrates are helpful 

in the form of energy bars. In this way you reach a performance boost 

but this obtaines only for a short period. After the workout you should fillup 

the cabohydrate storage again, taking into account that not needed 

quantities will be transformed into fat.

Creatine monohydrate is a body‘s own substance which is formed from 3 amino acids in the liver. One of the amino 

acids, methionine, cannot be produced by the body. This amino acid has to be fed by the nutrition. Besides the 

body‘s own production, the body takes a part of creatine from the food. Especially meat contains a plenty of the 

muscle booster. 

Due to different phosphates in the body, creatine is transformed into creatine phosphate. Creatine phosphate increases 

the content of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the fuel for our muscles. The higher the ATP-level in the 

body, the longer a maximal performance can be kept up. By splitting processes, creatine phosphate is exhausted 

fast but it is recovered rapidly during the rest period (within few seconds or minutes) in interaction with ATP. By 

ingesting creatine not only the body power and the endurance increase but it also proceeds a high water storage in 

the muscle cells. That happens because the muscle cell has got an exact proportion of fluid and solid parts. When 

taking creatine, this proportion changes as the creatine will be stored in the muscle cells. To balance this, the muscle 

cells also absorb increased fluid. The cross-section of the muscle cells heightens. 

At best creatine monohydrate should be used as a cure. That means an intake of 4 - 6 weeks, followed by a break 

of approximately 6 weeks. Creatine is stored in the muscle cells very fast but it is also removed very fast. A break 

off or the end of a cure therefor leads to a loss in weight and power. To minimize this losses, the nutrition should 

be basically rich in proteins and carbohydrates. It is also important to drink particulary much fluid in the case of 

an increased creatine intake. To favour the storage of creatine in the muscles, grape juice or an other source of 

monosaccharide can be taken in.

The Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point concept (HACCP) is a preventing
