Highlights: The j2se element replaces the jre element, the all-permissions element replaces the unrestricted element. The download attribute replaces the kind attribute on the jar element. The offline-allowed replaces the offline element. The resources element has been generalized to include the os and architecture attributes. The j2se element is a subelement of resources element, and therefore no longer needs the attributes. Added direct support for downloading native code using the nativelib element. Improved support for localization. A locale attribute has been added to the resources element, and the extension download protocol includes a locale attribute in the HTTP request. Simplified extensions into two orthogonal concepts. Thus, the component-desc element and the installer-desc element replace the extension-desc element. The extensions also utilize the generalized resources element to simplify their use. Added a new trusted environment to support J2EE-defined application clients. This environment is requested using the j2ee-application-client-permissions element. Changed MIME types. The application/x-java-jnlp-file replaces the application/jnlp MIME type, and the application/x-java-archive-diff MIME type replaces the application/jardiff MIME type.
