TITLE: IMAGINARY <strong>Rain</strong> <strong>Forest</strong>s<br />

MEDIA: Craypas and Watercolor Resist (but can be changed)<br />

Description: Children will be introduced to the artist, Henri Rousseau and<br />

consider how he invented his own imaginary jungles by observing exotic<br />

plants and animals and then inventing his own jungle paintings with hidden<br />

Animals.<br />

Possible Essential Questions:<br />

What are the characteristics of a rain forest and where are they located?<br />

What are endangered species and why are they endangered?<br />

What is camouflage?<br />

How did Henri Rousseau develop his ideas?<br />

What are some of the ways we can create the illusion of spatial<br />

Depth in our pictures?<br />

How do colors influence our mood and sense of weather?<br />
