Blue Knights Kentucky XI Raise Money for KleMF<br />

The third annual Blue Knights Kentucky XI Law Enforcement Memorial Ride on<br />

September 10 included 184 registered motorcycles and co-riders. The event,<br />

sponsored by Kentucky State Police Professional Association and Wal-Mart,<br />

began at the Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial at DOCJT and traveled to<br />

the Kentucky Horse Park.<br />

This year’s memorial ride raised $3,410, which was donated to the Kentucky<br />

Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation through the 2005 Kentucky Employee’s<br />

Charitable Campaign. The Blue Knights Kentucky XI have donated a total of<br />

$10,340 to the memorial foundation in the last three years. J<br />

2006 KleMF scholarship Process<br />

The Kentucky Law Enforcement<br />

Memorial Foundation will award<br />

twenty-five $1,000 scholarships<br />

for the fall 2006 semester. The<br />

foundation has increased the<br />

amount to $2,000 for family<br />

survivors of officers killed in the<br />

line of duty. Applications will<br />

be accepted March 1 through<br />

June 30, 2006. The scholarship<br />

criteria and application form<br />

are available on the Web site,<br />

www.klemf.org, or contact the<br />

foundation at (859) 622-2221.<br />

Ceremonial Bugle<br />

The Kentucky Law Enforcement<br />

Memorial Foundation purchased<br />

a ceremonial bugle to be used<br />

for memorial services and is<br />

available to Kentucky’s law<br />

enforcement honor guards. The<br />

bugle was used at the May 2005<br />

memorial service conducted by the<br />

foundation and the Department<br />

of Criminal Justice Training. A<br />

law enforcement agency has also<br />

used it for a funeral service. If<br />

your agency would like to use<br />

the bugle please contact the<br />

2006 KleMF Memorial Ceremony<br />

The 2006 memorial service will<br />

be held on May 18. There will be<br />

more information in the next issue.<br />
