<strong>Schedule</strong> Changes & Withdrawal Procedures<br />

Any change in a student’s schedule <strong>of</strong> classes, including<br />

adding a class, changing sections, or withdrawing from a<br />

class or classes must<br />

1 . be made on the appropriate <strong>for</strong>m available from<br />

the <strong>Lindenwood</strong> registrar’s <strong>of</strong>fice, local <strong>Lindenwood</strong><br />

campus, or site;<br />

2 . give the supporting reason <strong>for</strong> the change or<br />

withdrawal;<br />

3 . be approved and signed by the student’s faculty<br />

advisor;<br />

4 . be returned to the Registrar’s Office be<strong>for</strong>e the<br />

deadlines specified in the academic calendars .<br />

Students may add classes only during the first week<br />

<strong>of</strong> any term and only on a space-available basis . When<br />

adding a course, it will be necessary to obtain the<br />

instructor’s and advisor’s signatures . To withdraw from<br />

a course with a W, the student must obtain the advisor’s<br />

signature . When withdrawing from a course with a WP/<br />

WF, it is necessary to obtain both the advisor’s and<br />

instructor’s signatures; in addition, the instructor must<br />

note whether the student was passing or failing at the<br />

time <strong>of</strong> the withdrawal (WP/WF .) After obtaining the<br />

necessary signatures, withdrawal <strong>for</strong>ms must be submitted<br />

to the Registrar’s Office . No withdrawals will be accepted<br />

after the specified “WP/WF” date . Exceptions to this<br />

policy <strong>for</strong> reasons beyond the student’s control may be<br />

made by the Provost after the appropriate signatures have<br />

been obtained . Students who withdraw without proper<br />

authorization receive a final grade <strong>of</strong> “F” or “AF,” which<br />

is treated as a grade <strong>of</strong> “F .” Consult the “Withdrawal and<br />

Refund Policy” section <strong>for</strong> refund schedule .<br />

Students wishing to receive financial aid must notify<br />

the Financial Aid Office <strong>of</strong> their enrollment intentions<br />

every academic year . The Financial Aid Office must also<br />

be notified <strong>of</strong> any changes that may affect this plan (i .e .,<br />

enrollment change, tuition reimbursement, etc .) Students<br />

wishing to utilize Title IV Aid are required to be enrolled<br />

in at least six credit hours per term .<br />

Graduation Applications<br />

Official dates <strong>of</strong> graduation are March 30, June 30,<br />

August 30, September 30, and December 30 . If a student<br />

expects to complete degree requirements by the end<br />

<strong>of</strong> this term, he/she must complete an application <strong>for</strong><br />

graduation by the deadline listed in the schedule and/<br />

or catalog . Applications are available in the Registrar’s<br />

Office .<br />

Applications received after the deadline may be held<br />

until the following graduation date.<br />

Campus Resources<br />

Butler Library contains volumes and micr<strong>of</strong>iche . The<br />

library also subscribes to regional and national networks<br />

that facilitate sharing <strong>of</strong> materials from virtually all types<br />

<strong>of</strong> libraries . The library is open Monday through Thursday<br />

from 8 a .m . to 12 a .m ., Friday from 8 a .m . to 5 p .m .,<br />

Saturday from 9 a .m . to 4 p .m ., and Sunday from 2 p .m .<br />

to 12 a .m .<br />

The computer labs in the Spellmann Campus Center<br />

contain Macintosh and PC compatible computers <strong>for</strong><br />

student use . Hours <strong>for</strong> laboratory use will be posted by<br />

the first day <strong>of</strong> classes .<br />

The Computer Lab in the Cultural Center is equipped<br />

with PC-compatible computers <strong>for</strong> student use . Hours <strong>for</strong><br />

the lab are posted on the lab door .<br />

The Student Development Office oversees all student<br />

clubs and organizations and coordinates housing and<br />

residential life <strong>for</strong> on-campus residents . Inquiries about<br />

housing should be directed to the Student Development<br />

Office at 949-4985 .<br />

The University Chaplain chairs the campus-wide<br />

Religious Life Council, which promotes diverse campus<br />

religious expression and fellowship .<br />

The Coordinator <strong>for</strong> Campus Accessibility Services<br />

acts to ensure programs and facilities are accessible and<br />

assists and supports students with disabilities . It is the<br />

responsibility <strong>of</strong> the student to advise the coordinator<br />

when assistance is needed . The coordinator can be<br />

reached at 949-4784 .<br />

Financial aid is available to eligible students . Inquiries<br />

should be directed to the Office <strong>of</strong> Financial Aid at 949-<br />

4923 .<br />

The <strong>Lindenwood</strong> Spirit & Supplies Shoppe sells<br />

supplies, plus <strong>Lindenwood</strong> apparel and gifts . It is open<br />

Monday through Friday, 8 a .m . to 5 p .m . The Spirit &<br />

Supplies Shoppe can be reached at 949-7670 .<br />

<strong>Lindenwood</strong> University-Belleville’s library and<br />

computer lab are open from 8 a .m . to 12 a .m . on Monday<br />

through Thursday, 8 a .m . to 5 p .m . on Friday and<br />

Saturday, and 12 to 6 p .m . on Sunday .<br />

Withdrawal and Refund<br />

Students wishing to withdraw from <strong>Lindenwood</strong><br />

University should contact both the Registrar’s Office and<br />

the Office <strong>of</strong> Financial Aid . In order to receive the proper<br />

refund, any notification <strong>of</strong> withdrawal or cancellation<br />

and requests <strong>for</strong> refund should be made in writing . To<br />

begin the withdrawal process, students should submit<br />

a completed withdrawal <strong>for</strong>m to the Registrar’s Office,<br />

located in the lower level <strong>of</strong> Roemer Hall . The <strong>of</strong>fice<br />

hours are Monday-Thursday, 8 a .m . until 6 p .m ., Friday 8<br />

a .m . until 5 p .m . and Saturday 8 a .m . until 4 p .m .<br />

Calculations <strong>of</strong> the return <strong>of</strong> Title IV aid or tuition<br />

adjustments shall be based on the date the student begins<br />

the withdrawal process, provides <strong>of</strong>ficial notification <strong>of</strong><br />

the intent to withdraw, or the midpoint <strong>of</strong> the payment<br />

period <strong>for</strong> which Title IV aid was disbursed .<br />

Students who receive Title IV aid while attending<br />

<strong>Lindenwood</strong> University and withdraw during the first 60<br />

percent <strong>of</strong> the term will be disbursed Title IV aid in direct<br />

proportion to the length <strong>of</strong> time they remain enrolled . A<br />

student who remains enrolled beyond the 60 percent point<br />

<strong>of</strong> the term will not be entitled to a return <strong>of</strong> Title IV aid .<br />
