I)
1. Credo in unum Deum
I believe in one God
2. Patrem omnipotentem, factorem coeli et terrae,
visibilium omnium, et invisibilium
the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
and of all things visible and invisible.
3. Et in unum Dominum Jesum Christum, Filium
Dei unigenitum
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten
Son of God
4. Et ex Patre natum ante omnia saecula
Begotten of his Father before all worlds
5. Deum de Deo, lumen de lumine, Deum verum
de Deo vero
God of God, light of light, very God of very God
6. Genitum, non factum, consubstantialem Patri,
per quem omnia facta sunt
Begotten, not made, being of one substance with
the Father ; by whom all things were made.
7. Qui propter nos homines et propter nostram
salutem descendit de coelis
Who, for us men, and for our salvation, came down
from heaven.
II)
8. Et incarnatus est de Spiritu Sancto ex Maria
Virgine, et homo factus est
And was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin
Mary, and was made man.
9. Crucifixus etiam pro nobis, sub Pontio Pilato,
passus et sepultus est
And was crucified for us under Pontius Pilatus. He
suffered and was buried
10. Et resurrexit tertia die, secundum Scripturas
And the third day he rose again according to the
Scriptures,
11. Et ascendit in coelum Sedet ad dexteram Patri
And ascended to heaven, and sitteth to the right of
the Father.
12a. Et iterum venturus est cum gloria, judicare
vivos et mortuos
And he shall come again with glory to judge both
the quick and the dead
12b. Cujus regni non erit finis
Whose kingdom shall have no end.

vivificantem
And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and giver
of life

Who proceedeth from the Father and the Son,

Who with the Father and the Son together is
worshipped and glorified

And I believe one Holy Catholic and Apostolic

16. Confiteor unum baptisma in remissionem
peccatorum
I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of
sins,
17. Et expecto resurrectionem mortuorum
And I look for the resurrection of the dead,
18. Et vitam venturi saeculi. Amen.
