I)<br />

2. Patrem omnipotentem, factorem coeli et terrae,<br />

<strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r Almighty, maker of heaven <strong>and</strong> earth,<br />

<strong>and</strong> of all th<strong>in</strong>gs visible <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>visible.<br />

3. Et <strong>in</strong> unum Dom<strong>in</strong>um Jesum Christum, Filium<br />

Dei unigenitum<br />

And <strong>in</strong> one Lord Jesus Christ, <strong>the</strong> only begotten<br />

Son of God<br />

4. Et ex Patre natum ante omnia saecula<br />

Begotten of his Fa<strong>the</strong>r before all worlds<br />

5. Deum de Deo, lumen de lum<strong>in</strong>e, Deum verum<br />

de Deo vero<br />

God of God, light of light, very God of very God<br />

6. Genitum, non factum, consubstantialem Patri,<br />

per quem omnia facta sunt<br />

Begotten, not made, be<strong>in</strong>g of one substance with<br />

<strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r ; by whom all th<strong>in</strong>gs were made.<br />

7. Qui propter nos hom<strong>in</strong>es et propter nostram<br />

salutem descendit de coelis<br />

Who, for us men, <strong>and</strong> for our salvation, came down<br />

from heaven.<br />

II)<br />

8. Et <strong>in</strong>carnatus est de Spiritu Sancto ex Maria<br />

Virg<strong>in</strong>e, et homo factus est<br />

And was <strong>in</strong>carnate by <strong>the</strong> Holy Ghost of <strong>the</strong> Virg<strong>in</strong><br />

Mary, <strong>and</strong> was made man.<br />

9. Crucifixus etiam pro nobis, sub Pontio Pilato,<br />

passus et sepultus est<br />

And was crucified for us under Pontius Pilatus. He<br />

suffered <strong>and</strong> was buried<br />

10. Et resurrexit tertia die, secundum Scripturas<br />

And <strong>the</strong> third day he rose aga<strong>in</strong> accord<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>the</strong><br />

Scriptures,<br />

11. Et ascendit <strong>in</strong> coelum Sedet ad dexteram Patri<br />

And ascended to heaven, <strong>and</strong> sitteth to <strong>the</strong> right of<br />

<strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r.<br />

12a. Et iterum venturus est cum gloria, judicare<br />

vivos et mortuos<br />

And he shall come aga<strong>in</strong> with glory to judge both<br />

<strong>the</strong> quick <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> dead<br />

12b. Cujus regni non erit f<strong>in</strong>is<br />

Whose k<strong>in</strong>gdom shall have no end.<br />

III)<br />

13a. Et <strong>in</strong> Spiritum Sanctum, Dom<strong>in</strong>um, et<br />

vivificantem<br />

And I believe <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Holy Ghost, <strong>the</strong> Lord <strong>and</strong> giver<br />

of life<br />

13b. Qui ex Patre Filioque procedit<br />

Who proceedeth from <strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Son,<br />

14a. Qui cum Patre et Filio simul adoratur et<br />

conglorificatur<br />

Who with <strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Son toge<strong>the</strong>r is<br />

worshipped <strong>and</strong> glorified<br />

14b. Qui locutus est per Prophetas<br />

Who spake by <strong>the</strong> Prophets.<br />

15. Et unam sanctam, catholicam et apostolicam<br />

Ecclesiam<br />

And I believe one Holy Catholic <strong>and</strong> Apostolic<br />

Church<br />

16. Confiteor unum baptisma <strong>in</strong> remissionem<br />

peccatorum<br />

I acknowledge one baptism for <strong>the</strong> remission of<br />

s<strong>in</strong>s,<br />

17. Et expecto resurrectionem mortuorum<br />

And I look for <strong>the</strong> resurrection of <strong>the</strong> dead,<br />

18. Et vitam venturi saeculi. Amen.<br />

And <strong>the</strong> life of <strong>the</strong> world to come. Amen.
