OUR STORY: MVD Entertainment Group (previously known as Music<br />
Video Distributors, Inc) was founded in 1986 by Tom Seaman, an industry<br />
veteran <strong>of</strong> more than 40 years, whose background includes retailing stints<br />
with Record Hunter, Sam Goody, Musicland, CBS Retail, and wholesale<br />
experience with Jem Records. MVD initially acted primarily as a one-stop,<br />
buying all labels’ music-related VHS releases and reselling to music and<br />
video stores. Getting involved with DVD early, MVD called upon its strong<br />
relationships with content holders, labels, artists, and management to<br />
become a world leader in music DVD. In 2006, MVD expanded fur<strong>the</strong>r and<br />
launched an audio CD division based on <strong>the</strong>se same strong relationships<br />
with suppliers and customers.<br />
MVD Entertainment Group is a corporation consisting <strong>of</strong> three major<br />
divisions: MVD Visual, MVD Audio, and MVD Distribution.<br />
MVDvisual<br />
MVD’s exclusively represented Music DVD division has been re-branded<br />
as MVD Visual. Since 1999, this division has released over 1,500 titles and<br />
was <strong>the</strong> largest producer <strong>of</strong> Music DVD in 2007.<br />
MVD Visual specializes in producing, releasing, marketing, and<br />
distributing music-related DVDs for worldwide release. MVD Visual<br />
has an unparalleled focus on music DVD, which allows for aggressive<br />
marketing, publicity, promotion, and sales. Music DVD is center stage for<br />
MVD Visual, not an ancillary project. MVD Visual also includes Eclectic<br />
DVD, which features unusual, sometimes cult non-music DVD products.<br />
MVDaudio<br />
MVD Audio handles exclusive distribution and representation for audio<br />
content on CD. MVD Audio has content agreements with several record<br />
labels including Inakustik (Germany), Secret Records Ltd. (UK), King<br />
Street Sounds (US), Zeit (UK), Studio T (UK), Arctic (US), and Metal<br />
Mind Productions (Poland) as well as many independent artists.<br />
MVDdistribution<br />

The wholesale operation <strong>of</strong> MVD is now called MVD Distribution. This<br />
division is a one-stop for Music DVD, carrying <strong>the</strong> best selection <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> format in <strong>the</strong> world, and fur<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong>fers a very large selection <strong>of</strong><br />
non-music DVD. MVD Distribution executes <strong>the</strong> physical fulfillment <strong>of</strong><br />
its products (including MVD Audio and MVD Visual), servicing major<br />
chains, distributors, one-stops, online retail, and independent retail. MVD<br />
Distribution runs its 20,000 square foot warehouse in Oaks, PA.<br />

The Seaman family has kept MVD Entertainment<br />
alive and rocking for more than 20 years.<br />
CEO Tom Seaman, a veteran <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> music industry,<br />
started <strong>the</strong> company in 1987 to hit <strong>the</strong> market<br />
for music on home video. With his<br />
wife, Elinor; son, Ed; and daughter,<br />
Eve Edwards, <strong>the</strong> company has thrived<br />
and expanded to include music-based<br />
documentaries, cult films, musicals and<br />
dramas, among o<strong>the</strong>r genres, with concert video remaining<br />
<strong>the</strong> company’s bread and butter.<br />
“People thought he was crazy doing what he was<br />
doing,” explains Ed Seaman, MVD’s COO. “Music<br />
video was, especially <strong>the</strong>n, considered a bastard <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
music business. It wasn’t until DVD took hold that it<br />
was considered a viable part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> business.”<br />
Over <strong>the</strong> years MVD has expanded from a one-stop<br />
wholesaler to a distributor representing exclusive content<br />
in <strong>the</strong> United States, Canada and worldwide. In<br />
keeping with <strong>the</strong> fact that DVD helped garner MVD<br />
new business, <strong>the</strong> company has embraced yet ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />
new format, recently releasing titles on Blu-ray Disc,<br />
including reggae film Rockers and cult film Jesus Christ<br />
Vampire Hunter.<br />
In <strong>the</strong> future, MVD is looking to produce<br />
more content and do more digital<br />
distribution, but <strong>the</strong> company remains<br />
as committed as ever to putting musicrelated<br />
content out on physical disc.<br />
“Digital distribution <strong>of</strong> our content is going to grow<br />
to some degree, but we’re not so fast to ring <strong>the</strong> death<br />
toll on physical content,” Ed Seaman says. “The very<br />
fact that <strong>the</strong> kids are going out and buying collectible<br />
vinyl, it screams to <strong>the</strong> fact that people want something<br />
to wrap <strong>the</strong>ir arms around and show <strong>of</strong>f to <strong>the</strong>ir friends.<br />
We intend to continue to expand and pick up great labels,<br />
studios and content and best exploit this content<br />
through all known and future distribution channels.”<br />
