Alumni Update: Trevor Arsenault
“Never Forget orget Your Professors!”
These words of advice are from
SBC’s newest board member, Trevor
Arsenault (Diploma of Biblical
Studies, 2004). Trevor explains that
he has found former professors to be
an invaluable resource and great
encouragement over the years.
The example of his father, an RCMP
officer for 31 years, and an early call
in his life to “help people” directed
Trevor to pursuing education in
social work. After obtaining a firm
foundation in the Bible at SBC,
Trevor went on to complete a degree
in Social Work at Booth College.
Trevor and his wife, Jody, have been
married for 11 years and have two
daughters aged 4 and 7. They call
Steinbach home, and Trevor works
in front line child protection work
with Southeastern Manitoba Child
and Family Services. Trevor and
Jody attend Steinbach Evangelical
Fellowship, where Trevor serves on
the board of elders.
When asked why, with an already
busy schedule, he would consider
serving on the SBC board, Trevor
quickly answered, “I believe in what
SBC does in training servant leaders
and I am honoured to be a part of
the “leg work” that goes into that.
SBC is a great school. I left in 2006,
but didn’t want to go. This is a good
way to come back.”
Any further words of advice for
students? “Never throw away your
notes!”
