The Bachelor of Arts degree <strong>in</strong> geology (major code 550) is <strong>in</strong>tended for students who want a diverse, <strong>in</strong>terdiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary education. The BA program is a<br />

good choice for students <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong> careers <strong>in</strong> science education or elementary education, technical writ<strong>in</strong>g, journalism, law, anthropology, bus<strong>in</strong>ess,<br />

resource management, land-use plann<strong>in</strong>g, science policy, environmental protection, philosophy of science, or military science.<br />

Below are the program requirements that need to be completed <strong>in</strong> order to earn the Bachelor of Arts degree <strong>in</strong> geology. Meet with your advisor before<br />

you register each term. Us<strong>in</strong>g this sheet <strong>in</strong> conjunction with My<strong>Degree</strong>s should help you keep on track toward successfully complet<strong>in</strong>g your degree.<br />

I. LANGUAGE ENTRANCE REQUIREMENT<br />

If you graduated from high school <strong>in</strong> or after 1997, you were required to have taken two years of high school<br />

foreign language. If this requirement is not met prior to admission, you are required to take 2 college terms <strong>in</strong> the<br />

same foreign language. One term of OSU language equals one year of high school language.<br />
