page 22 000 MODIFICATION & CUSTOM CAPABILITIES Project: South Coast Home Furnishings Modified Fixture: Monolith Outdoor
CONCEPT OCL has the capability and experience to modify and customize fixtures to meet unique design challenges – as illustrated by this project for South Coast Home Furnishings in Costa Mesa, California. In the preliminary evaluation drawing, the architecture and planning firm Lee & Sakahara specified an outdoor wall-mounted fixture that was UL wet-location listed with a logo laser-cut in the center of the custom face design. MATCH As a starting point, we identified the OCL Monolith Outdoor fixture as a close match in both size and style to the fixture specified by Lee & Sakahara. CUSTOMIZATION Next, we presented our proposed design for the project with a custom adaptation of the existing fixture. We designed an aluminum face that was laser cut and rolled to the correct size, and modified the back housing to a depth of four inches. Finally, we replicated the logo using a DXF drawing for a truly custom look. OCL can modify most fixtures by size, hanging system, lamping, diffuser, finish, and/or decorative cut-outs (i.e. logos, designs, room numbers).
